The facilities are average, it's an older hotel. They're very big on art, with lots of original paintings and even an ongoing art exhibition.

Excellent location close to all amenities and thats before I got in the door. Front of house, reception staff were very friendly and most helpful. My room was on the ground floor which was ideal for me, and it was spotlessly clean and warm.

Overall a positive experience here at the Highland hotel. The foyer feels very luxury and the building definitely feels it has some age too it. This does come with the downside of a smell of oldness but its not a bad smell and not noticeable for long. Rooms are clean as was the bathroom, had all the essentials you need, plenty of plugs and the room itself was large and roomy. Others have complained about it being cold but we found the heating to be fine and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and for only £56 it was a great value stay. Recommend 👍

Very comfortable, lovely furnished clean room. Beautiful building with its huge grand stair cases (also has lift). Throughly enjoyed my stay. Top marks.

Great price and location but hotel is very dated and there was mould in the bathroom ceiling and desk was falling apart

This hotel seems to get some bad reviews but I think many are unfair. From what we experienced it was a good hotel, great location and the person who checked us in was very good. Especially as the she had to handle an awkward customer ahead of us. Bed was very big and had a good mattress. Usual stuff you want in a hotel room and nice complimentary toiletries. Location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Inverness centre, less than a 10 min walk to the most famous bank machine in Inverness (IYKYK). There is limited parking but a reasonably priced multi story car park is only a few mins walk away. Staircase in reception area leading to the first floor is also very impressive.

The Royal Highland is a former British Transport Hotel and, as such, is very well located right next to Inverness railway station. It also has much of the grandeur you expect from such historic premises. This hotel could be fabulous with some investment, but it is a little tired around the edges. However, it is clean and the service friendly and helpful. I would return!

It was a pity the lift was not working. So I had to take the stairs to the second floor with my heavy suitcase. I am 77 and I should have been offered help. I only got help after I specifically asked for it

Stayed overnight after attending a football match. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was quite small and a bit dated but clean and perfect for 1 night. Didn’t book breakfast but receptionist kindly arranged for us to have coffee from the breakfast room. Very convenient location right at the railway station.

The building is very old and make a lot of sound when you walk. Lift spolit easily. Not my ideal hotel if there is better choice

Older Hotel with all the charm. Loved the tea in the room and the heated towel rack. Comfortable for a night or a central base while exploring Inverness.
