Incredible family-run hotel, the room and facilities were all perfect. We got great advice about restaurants (Alex helped us get a reservation at a very hard-to-get-into restaurant!), what to see (and what to miss), and everything was just generally wonderful. It's right across from the bus stop too. Highly recommend staying here if you go to Ios!

This family run business was an absolute pleasure to stay at. Well run, exceptionally clean and very welcoming We stayed as two couples for 3 nights as part of an island hopping holiday. Alex, his wife and brother were all so friendly and helpful Alex picked us up from the port which we were very grateful for - on Naxos it cost us €40 for a taxi Fabulous pool area with comfortable beds. Our room was huge with a bathroom suited to a luxury hotel Located between the port and the town, the regular buses made this an easy option Thanks to Alex’s many recommendations, we ate well every night

The Golden Sun is a really good Hotel. The position is very well, you are near the port and you can arrive in Chora by foot in ten minutes. The room was clean, comfortable and there was a balcony where you could see the amazing sunset of Ios. There is a nice pool with sun beds and beach umbrellas. The owners are very kindly and hospitality. The life motive of this location is the silence of the nature and the relax. These is a best choice for your holiday!

Belated review but me and my 2 friends had the BEST time at this hotel. The service was incredible, and it made it even nicer how it was a family run hotel. The room was spotless and the pool area was lovely. We had breakfast/lunch by the pool everyday which was delightful! We wish we were there for longer!!

Overall our experience at golden sun was incredible and I highly recommend it for anyone staying on Ios. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful in giving their knowledge of the area and marking out a map for us of things to do and places to eat etc. the room was excellent, very modern and spotlessly clean, also serviced every day to a high standard. The view from the balcony was very nice too. Staff at the hotel were so helpful, always checking to ensure we were having a good time and doing everything they could to improve our stay. The pool and bar are excellent, wonderful food and drinks. The location is great, an easy walk to town and the port too. This is easily the best place we have stayed on our trip so far, and should certainly be your first preference when booking accommodation on the island.

My partner and I stayed at the golden sun for our first time in Greece and we had a really wonderful experience at the Golden Sun, our room was ready well before check in and we were able to check in 3 hours earlier (as we had arrived early). Alex and his wife were very accommodating and we felt very comfortable and looked after during our stay. The room accommodated us just fine, for the price I think it is reasonable, beautiful views and nice and clean. Alex even dropped us to the port at 6pm (even though we checked out at 11:30am) Wonderful experience, would definitely recommend for young couples who are travelling on budget.

Arrived as a female solo traveller. The family were all so kind and lovely and really went above and beyond. I cannot recommend Golden Sun Hotel more if I tried. Brilliant service from start to finish. And the view from the balcony at night was so impressive.

Location super consigliata, a due passi da Chora e dal porto, la posizione è ottima per girare tutta l’isola. Le camere sono molto pulite e il cambio degli asciugamani viene fatto tutti i giorni. Inoltre forniscono un servizio transfert dal porto alla location e viceversa se avvisati prima dell’arrivo. Il proprietario Alexandros è una persona gentilissima e super disponibile . Lo consiglio ASSOLUTAMENTE.

Siamo stati qui per 5 notti, nulla da dire riguardo la posizione, la camera e la pulizia. Ma… al momento del check out: il proprietario continua a dirci che dobbiamo pagare la camera quando in realtà era stata già pagata chiedendo, quindi, di verificare meglio. Dopo 5 minuti di sua insistenza alla fine, verifica e la camera risultava già debitamente pagata. Nella sua insistenza continuava a dirci se avessimo capito cosa ci voleva dire; come se non avessimo capito la situazione noi.. peccato che provavamo a spiegarla da 5 minuti. Ci ha fatto pagare 20 euro un lenzuolo in quanto per nostro errore - sicuramente- avevamo bruciato con il ferro da stiro una parte di lenzuolo. Ok va bene ma.. eccessivo. La camera era dotata di frigo bar peccato che non vi era nemmeno l’ombra di una bottiglia d’acqua.. ad agosto con questo caldo impensabile. Penso che ci abbia provato in tutti i modi di fregarci :)
