I stayed here for two nights. The hostel is located in Ipoh city center, about a ten-minute walk from the core attractions of Old Town (like Concubine Lane and the Clock Tower) and the food streets. The hostel building is a century-old house with English-style wrought iron gates and windows, colorful floor tiles, and wooden stairs that exude a rich sense of history. The rooms have wooden floors, and the beds and duvets are very clean. The facilities meet basic travel needs, including a washer-dryer combo and drying racks, as well as separate male and female shower areas. I particularly appreciated the warm and thoughtful service from the staff, especially the male owner who thoroughly explained the history of Ipoh's development, nearby tourist attractions, and local cuisine. In the morning, there are four free breakfast options to choose from. This hostel is highly recommended, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Ipoh.

1. The common areas are incredibly spacious, both upstairs and downstairs, indoors and out. 2. The rooms are also huge; six people share one room with two bunk beds each, and there's plenty of space to move around inside. 3. There are many bathrooms, all very discreetly separated. 4. The decor has a charming old Nanyang style, feeling very classic and antique. 5. The water dispenser provides hot water quickly and consistently, and the tea bags are exceptionally good quality. 6. They even offer a complimentary breakfast. This is truly an amazing hostel! I'm going to miss it!

Very quiet and the service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious with eggs, toast, kaya toast, waffles, and salad 🥗. The staff were super friendly. The location was great, very close to Concubine Lane, Ho Chak Yan Herbal Tea, and Han Chin Pet Soo, about a 15-minute walk. There are also many great food options nearby, like Thean Chun Coffee Shop.

I have to be honest, this hostel is one of the best that you can find with this modest price, but excellent services. First enter, the counter was having a good chat with a chinese, teen girl who traveled alone in Malaysia. The counter, who is a girl immediately served me as I wanted to place my luggage here before exploring Ipoh . When i check in, around 2pm, (yeah i can check in before 3pm, this is a life saver), an uncle, who served me with care and gave me a tour with their amenities. The amenities were amazing. You can play guitar if you do as they provided at the resting area. You can have a relaxing, comforting hot bath with shampoo and body wash provided. The pillows and bed were cozy... The only thing i am unsatisfied is the attitude of the chinese traveler who sleeps beside me. I can hesr his whispers, saying rude words in chinese (maybe he is having a bad time in Ipoh i guess). The rest, is awesome. If you are looking for a cozy place to stay with home's warmth and modest price, Miner's house is for you.

Nice hostel and very friendly staff. Around half an hour walk from main train station. Comfortable spaces and simple breakfast provided.
