Hotel Excelsior Ipoh

Have been using this hotel for a few times during business trips. Centrally located and friendly front office staff.

Great location and easy access to food and attractions. Unfortunately, the bathroom shower head was poorly maintained and looked dirty. I reported the issue several times, but it was never attended to. A small item perhaps, but seeing it every day during the stay became quite frustrating. The hotel should improve its facility maintenance.

Room is clean and location is central. Service is good and counter staff are friendly

ONE ⭐ - WORST EXPERIENCE - TERRIBLE & UNACCEPTABLE Checked in Hotel Excelsior on 1 June 2026. I paid RM50 deposit using my debit card and the amount was deducted INSTANTLY from my account , they received and held my money. But when I checked out and asked for my deposit, they shocked me by saying I have to WAIT FULL 14 DAYS just to get my own money returned 😡😡😡😡😡😡 The 2 staff whom I communicated with earlier were COMPLETELY USELESS, ZERO HELP and UNCOOPERATIVE from start to finish. They didn’t try to understand my situation, ignored my requests, gave cold answers and refused to take any action to solve the problem at all, their attitude was extremely bad and unprofessional. They clearly told me this is the rule set by management, Victorious. NO CASH REFUND will be given at checkout, This is unfair and ridiculous practice. They grab my money instantly, yet they informed me to wait for 14 days to get back deposit what belongs to me. EXTREMELY BAD policy, EXTREMELY BAD service & EXTREMELY BAD attitude. DISAPPOINTING. ⚠️ WARNING: DO NOT trust what they say verbally.

Good and strategically located 5-star hotel in the heart of Ipoh. Granted that it is a bit old but room and hotel were clean and staffs were nice and helpful. Very near to many nice dimsum restaurants (photos below).

Nice hotel in the city area. Walking distance to many eateries, and also close to Ipoh Parade. The room is clean with all the essentials. Only feedback is the TV channels are limited and sometimes may go out of signals.

Even though the hotel has been established for decades, the rooms are still fresh and clean. I read not so good reviews and many occasions I was reluctant to book. This time around I decided to give it a try and was amazingly surprised how wonderful it turned out to be. I will definitely comeback again and stay at Hotel Excelsior. Receptionist at the front desk was helpful. I purposely took photos of the room when I entered to show others what a difference it made my day. Ignore the other reviewers and note many be the management took notice and has improved since then ☺️
