Travelodge Ipswich

Had a good nights sleep, room, bed and shower were spot on, was disappointed with breakfast as not all items on the menu were available but there was plenty of food, good situation for attending the music room as only 3 minutes walk away, had a bit of a nightmare paying for the parking (only £2 for 24 hours) due to the fact that we hadn’t seen the pay machine and downloaded an app on the mobile, We will definitely stay again when we attend the music room and have mentioned a 2 night stop with friends to explore some of the local area,
Ipswich - Orwell

I am not often writing reviews, but this hotel deserves my time, and especially the front desk lady, I think her name was Esther, she was like a God sent when we came to Ipswich with no plans to stay, and we where tired and really needed somewhere to stay. We booked 30 minutes before arrival, and the front desk lady met us with such a nice and welcoming attitude that we did decide to stay an extra night because the first impression was so good because of her! The hotel is clean, and have everything your need. The service is supreme! Way more than I have seen in other three start hotels before. I can highly recommend this hotel!
Muthu Belstead Brook Hotel
3.9/5110 Reviews
The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

I have been looking at hotels with my father for a while, and found this hotel to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to location and facilities. Staff was absolutely professional and especially Heather was incredibly helpful when it came to suggestions for places to eat and leisure. Will absolutely stay again and can't wait to see what this place has more to offer
Ipswich Town Centre (Quayside)

Great view from the dining room over the quay. Room was clean and breakfast was really nice overall very good for a short stay. Parking was a little hard to find at night as it’s a bit hidden under the building £6 for overnight parking was in addition to the room rate but not too bad. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The Station Hotel
2.4/567 Reviews
To say that I was disappointed with, the Station Hotel in Ipswich is the greatest understatement of the century, the ‘hotel’ is a disgrace and an absolute hovel of a place in which I would not make my worst enemy reside at. The exterior and bar restaurant area are,at first impression good, in terms of style and décor however it soon becomes apparent that it is not very clean. However, when you climb the stairs to the accommodation this hovel of a place to stay reveals itself, the corridors and hallways are very run down and have a desperate requirement for a clean let alone a coat of paint and some maintenance. The room was awful, if I could have found another place to stay in the locality I would not have stayed it was astonishingly poor, in terms of décor, maintenance, and upkeep. This manifested itself when I noticed a hole in the wall, the ancient worn-out furniture, the stained wall above the electric heater, the lack of any bedside lighting (in fact, the only lighting in the room was from the harsh ceiling light), the television did not have an aerial therefore it only had BBC channels to watch, even though the room benefited from wardrobe yet with no clothes hangers it was rendered it useless, the hot tap over the basin was not connected to the water supply, therefore, there was no hot water, the only window in the room had single glazing and with so many gaps in the frame the cold air from outside streamed in the room making it impossible for the small electric heater to heat the room, the old mattress on the bed made for an uncomfortable nights sleep not helped due to a thin duvet and worn out pillows… I could add more... The website states that... ‘We have a selection of newly re-furbished beautiful rooms available’ and absolutely wholly an untruth, the site goes on to inform you that guests should expect ‘a comfortable well presented double room with ensuite shower. The bright and airy bedrooms at Riverside Hotel have large windows and tea/coffee facilities. All rooms have a work desk and TV, and ironing facilities are also provided. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout’ apart from the Wi-Fi all is fiction. A GREAT PLACE TO BE… as headlined on the website… it is definitely NOT. This is a terrible, disgusting hovel of a place to stay. The owner is delusional if he believes that he is offering guests ‘ a comfortable well presented’ place to stay however it was apparent that he does not care about that because when I presented him details of my stay he was full of excuses, could not bring himself to apologise for the inconvenience and lies told. He does not deserve anyone’s business. His attitude is replicated by the rest of the management team who also do not care about the hotel or any level of customer service. Described as a three-star hotel, it is not even worthy of being a one-star and should be avoided at all costs.
