Hotel Abendrot by Alpeffect Hotels

Excellent hotel will amazing location! We booked this hotel without doing much research and we were completely taken back on how great this hotel is! The location is top! The room was very clean and comfortable, with amazing pillows, blankets and a mattress that is very conforming. The check-in was quick and the staff very friendly. Parking was available so we could unload our items and then go to the room. After a great day of skiing we were able to ski down the hill on run 1 that ended up only 40m way from their ski-room. I could not have hoped for more! Good price helps!

Rooms are clean, modern and well equipped, with comfortable beds and working wifi. The sauna and steam room is in good order. The dining room and adjacent bar area are bright and adequate. Staff are friendly and mostly helpful, especially the manager. Breakfasts are perfectly adequate, if not as elaborate as some (mostly more expensive) Austrian hotels. Dinner is four courses, plus a (fairly limited) salad bar and cheese; so could be six courses if you choose. The soup course was poor quality, but starters, main courses and desserts were better, if a little uneven in quality. Dinner is available on only six nights, just like the arrangement in British chalet hotels, which the Abendrot in some respects resembles. The location is excellent - a few minutes walk from the Silvrettabahn gondola, and it's possible to ski back to within 30 metres of the hotel. Overall a good value option in an expensive resort.
