Fantastic service, food and drink! Room was ideal for what was needed. Chef in the bandana was a character, and Elise was great at helping decide on the menu. And the secrtary helped us hire bicycles which is a must for the island if don't drive. Will be back next year, weather and work permitting.

Outstanding. Clean & very comfortable throughout. A really warm welcome and great service from all the lovely staff. Food excellent. Well located for exploring Islay and for the ferry to Jura. A place to remember for all the right reasons.

Comfortable, warm and friendly hotel with good food. I felt at home instantly. Looks ordinary from the outside, but I would book again and the feel of the place was a revelation. Rooms on the small side, but the best shower i have had in a hotel in years. All staff worked hard and seemed happy to be there which all contributed to my stay.

Went for a special birthday lunch. Knowing the staff helped making the whole experience better, but having enjoyed the meal forgot to recheck the bill. My bad and a basic fault. Got home and realised error but soon sorted out by management. Well done Iain Hamilton in sorting out quickly, but special praise to Kenny for lovely service!

A perfect country hotel on a perfect Island. Don get conned into having to be in a town on Islay. This is a perfect central location. They have a fantastic dining room, but be sure to book a meal time for dinner. The staff here are so friendly and easy going. The garden is a quiet refuge where you can take your glass of wine and enjoy the area. lots of parking if you are driving. The few rooms are quaint and enjoyable. This is a true country hotel you want to stay in

During our two-plus weeks in Scotland we decided to put Islay on the front of our holiday, as we were interested in touring some of the distilleries there and flights from Glasgow Airport were reasonably priced (did not want to attempt the car ferry as we understood it breaks down with some sort of predictability). We stayed only one night on the island and we are kicking ourselves for not staying longer! The Bridgend Inn was one of the most charming we have ever seen in our travels through England and Scotland over the years, and the food! Amazing! A small operation, yes, but we truly dined like royalty during supper and breakfast the next day! So kind and helpful to us, but the real reason for this review is the unfortunate misplacing of my raincoat I had brought (and certainly needed). Upon our leaving I neglected to check the cupboard and only noticed its absence once we got to our next destination in Inverary, so I emailed the staff at Bridgend and they promised to look for it. Assuming I would never see it again I received an email within the hour, saying that it was indeed left in our room and would I like to have it mailed back to our home? As we were heading north I told them that would be the best option and gave them my credit card number. We managed the rest of the trip without it, and a few days after getting back to the U.S. a large parcel arrived, and there was my raincoat packed as if it had been purchased at Harrods and neatly folded with such care that I just looked at it with amazement. They truly went above and beyond and it certainly coloured our journey through the Highlands as we reflected on the true kindness of these strangers, and how much we wish to return to this little spot in Scotland. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough.

Great to not cook and thanks to Elise for service with a smile. Made me feel relaxed and thanks for fitting me in with no booking. Now time to walk back to bowmore. In training for kilt walk so that’s that. Had scallops and soup and cheesecake Another nice meal and happy chap
