A wonderful hotel that has super comfortable rooms, with modern furnishing and facilities, wonderful staff, and above all an amazing location which is ideal for visiting the historic side of Istanbul, and this is an extremely safe and highly walkable location. Everything is right about this hotel, as you get to stay in a central location without compromising on comfort and quality. This is the High End version named Handwritten Collection, while the same name standard hotel is next to it. Also they have two entrances so to access reception go to the main one on Ankara Street outside the Sirkeci Metro Station. Also request for a room in that building it’s more convenient with less ramps and stairs. Below is the detailed review of the hotel:
Location: The location is ideal from all angles. All tourist attractions including the Ayasofya, The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Museum, Grand Bazar, Spice Bazar, and other iconic mosques are all at a ten minute walk or less. For public transportation the Sirkeci Metro Station has an entrance right outside the hotel, while also in the street behind, the Tram is at a 5 minute walk down the hill. This hotel is totally walkable to all attractions, while public transport can get you to all other neighborhoods within 15 minutes such as Galata Tower, Taksim Square, Karaköy etc. There is a 100 meter steep walk to the hotel entrance from the main road though, but if you let the hotel know, they make sure to pick you and your luggage from the drop off spot. There are a huge amount of traditional restaurants as soon as you walk out of the hotel along with convenience stores. Unbeatable location definitely.
Rooms: The deluxe rooms are compact and quite small, but very comfortable. There is no outdoor. Lise that disturbs your sleep. The bed, mattress, and pillows were super comfortable. Both sides of the beds have modern room light controls as well as power and USB outlets, as well as bed side lamps and drawers. The closet is large and iron/board is also provided. There are two large drawers below the closet as well. The TV is large but not a smart TV. There is a single seat sofa in the room as well. Electric Kettle and tea/coffee is provided in the room, while they only give Tap Water filled glass water bottle in the room, which you have to remind them to refill. The tiny fridge is already filled with mini bar items so very little space to keep your own items for refrigeration. The rooms are so cramped that it’s difficult to store large luggage bags.
Bathroom: The bathroom has modern fittings, a bidet fitted WC and separate shower area. Good quality Bathroom amenities are fixed near the sink and shower. The shower pressure was very low at the third floor and both the handheld shower and the rain shower were very slow. The water drainage from the shower area was also slow. The towels are very nice and soft. The additional bathroom amenities are of great quality as well.
Dining: The breakfast I would not recommend as it’s pricey, and is exact opposite of the breakfast you would want to have in this area. The restaurant is in the basement and it’s majorly regular hotel breakfast. Would recommend trying other rooftop restaurants with a view for breakfast. The rooftop restaurant for this hotel is located in the next building and it serves Lunch onwards.
Transport: They arrange a taxi for your travel back to either airport which is very convenient and can be paid by both cash and card/contactless. The rate is competitive and saves the hassle of finding a cab at the last minute. The hotel is at least an average 1 hour drive from the airport.
Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
