Sofitel Istanbul Taksim Reviews

Hotel was centrally located in Taksim so commuting to other attractions was convenient with the metro a few minutes away. BUT A big issue is the front desk service. A friend dropped off chocolates for me at the front desk and they could not find it for hours and hours. Firstly, they did not record accepting the chocolates and secondly they insisted I checked with my friend again and again to confirm that my friend left me the chocolate. Their attitude was as if I was lying about the chocolates and like they lost it for sure. I kept telling them my friend left a note with the chocolate and they insisted they never received it. The front desk staff started getting irritated after a few minutes and stopped looking for it. They continued looking only because I wanted to check out and started arguing with them that the chocolate was 100% left at front desk. Yes, they finally found the chocolates but I was really annoyed with their attitude. I mean they weren't helpful at all. And there's like 3 of them at the front desk but they're not helpful at all. Another annoying thing is the indoor pool closing time is 10pm in the evening according to the website but I was told to leave at 9:30pm for weekly cleaning. They should change the times to 9:30pm on certain days then instead of disturbing my swimming session. At least the outdoor pool was definitely more better with nice views. Oh and please don't get the breakfast, options were sad.... Summary: Room was nice, clean and big with AC but don't expect good service and good breakfast.

Poweeeeeeer! Awesome place to stay in if you want the convenience and comfort. Hotel staff be it front desk, room service etc was very professional, courteous and friendly. Special thanks to Front Desk Ilknur for your assistance, heard its just your 2nd week in Sofitel but already serving like a pro. Kudos to her mentors and colleagues too! Also, Room was spacious and daily room service was acceptable. Thank You Sofitel Taksim. Poweeeer!

The hotel has a convenient location, and the rooms are pleasant and clean. However, unfortunately, they didn't return my swimsuit. I left it in the room, 100%, and they said they didn't find it.

Hotel is conveniently located, but in need of renovation. Service is okayish, but not many people can speak English. View is beautiful from the rooms facing Taksim square

Don’t stay there, absolutely horrible staff, horrible management, horrible service and NO WATER! The bathroom has leakage and AC doesn’t work! Horrific experience EVER! Terrible hygiene and rundown condition!

Extremely spacious room. Offered a refreshing drink every afternoon as well. Concierge was helpful to guide us where to visit etc. Highly recommend

We stayed in two rooms, including a Superior Suite. Both rooms were very clean, and the staff were polite and always eager to help. The breakfasts were good, and the room service menu was excellent. The location also deserves a special mention — it’s easy to reach any part of the city by public transport.

We stayed 2 nights at Sofitel Istanbul Taksim and honestly had a really comfortable experience throughout our stay in Istanbul. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable enough for us to properly rest after long days exploring the city. The hotel itself feels luxurious yet still very convenient for travelers, especially if you plan to move around Istanbul using public transportation. One of the best things about this hotel is definitely the location. Taksim Square is literally just around the corner, making it super easy to access the metro, buses, airport shuttle, and other public transport connections around the city. Whether you’re visiting the Old City, Galata, Bosphorus area, or even heading to the airport, everything feels very accessible from here. Another thing we enjoyed was the food scene around the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores nearby. The kebab restaurant right in front of the hotel was surprisingly good — and the best part is, it opens 24 hours, which was perfect for late-night supper after a long day walking around Istanbul. Overall, we genuinely enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Istanbul Taksim. Great location, comfortable rooms, easy transportation access, and lots of food nearby. Definitely a hotel we would consider staying at again when visiting Istanbul.

Hands down the best choice for our Istanbul trip! It's perfectly located right at the beginning of Istiklal Avenue, making it incredibly convenient for the metro and airport shuttle. The facilities are top-notch, and the service is so warm and welcoming. Plus, the 9th-floor rooftop is amazing – you can see the Bosphorus on one side and the whole city on the other. Absolutely fantastic!

The hotel's location is excellent, right by Taksim Square. From the airport, take the No. 16 bus to the last stop, then follow your navigation. The bellhop was very enthusiastic and brought our luggage to the room. The room was quite spacious, just as described. It's also very convenient to get to Dolmabahçe Palace via the F1 tram. On our second day, while waiting for our transfer, the hotel staff kindly invited us to wait in the lobby and offered to watch for our car, as it was very cold outside. Such thoughtful service!

I didn't like the service. The lady at the front desk was rude. She didn't speak clearly and also gave us a room that wasn't suitable for us.

Unfriendly staff, terrible breakfast, and a very dirty, smelly spa. The rooms are nice, but the mattresses are uncomfortable. Definitely won't be coming back!
