Great Location in Karakoy! 🚂 Hotel is super close to Karakoy Metro and Tunel- Funicular Station (just steps down) - perfect for hitting Beyoglu, Istiklal, and Taksim (10mins away) 😄. Only bummer: if you're coming from the airport, you'll need to switch at Sishane station and walk down (not exactly trolley-friendly 😬).

Very polite and helpful staff. What I liked most was that I arrived at the hotel at 12:00pm, and check-in is usually at 2:00pm. But they immediately gave me a room, which was very nice, since I arrived very tired from the airport. For which I want to say a huge thank you! The view was not bad, everything was clean and tidy. Upon request, they quickly provided an iron. Overall, I am very pleased. I think I will stay here again.

The location was really convenient. It is walking distance to the Galata tower and the itsikil street. The tram station T2 is also located walking distance to connect to other parts of Istanbul. One down side to this is that it could be quite noisy as it is in a very busy street. One commendable thing is the good service by the staff working there. You can leave your luggage at the reception if you arrive early or need to go off later.

Racial discrimination, I suggest you don't book. Description: Checked in on May 1, 2024, breakfast included, encountered racial discrimination during breakfast on May 2. At that time, I asked for a cup of Turkish tea, and the waiter did not put a small spoon for dissolving sugar (other tables of guests put it, but my cup did not put it, standard action, but don't bother, just assume she forgot), then I went to the bar to ask for a small spoon, the waiter's face turned black, took a small spoon at hand, threw it directly on the bar, the spoon bounced and slid in front of me, and then she smiled and served other white guests, the scene at that time really dreamed back to the eighteenth century. When I was having breakfast, I asked for a fried egg, but it didn't come to me after more than ten minutes. The fried eggs of the white people who came after me were all served. Later, I urged it again, and she said two minutes, but it didn't come, but I observed that the fried eggs at other tables were served normally. I confirmed that I encountered racial discrimination, but I didn't argue with her. In the end, I finished breakfast and left without serving me the fried egg. I have changed my passport, and I can communicate in English for business. I confirmed that I encountered racial discrimination. ps: I also encountered a weird thing. I couldn't find a hair dryer in the room, so I asked the front desk to help check it out. The room service came and knocked on the door. I was about to open the door, but a few seconds after the room service knocked, they swiped the card to open the door. Fortunately, I was wrapped in a bath towel at that time, and my wife was taking a shower in the bathroom. I was speechless.

The location is great, you can walk to the Galata Tower Bridge. It is very close to the tram T1 station, so you can visit various attractions. It is also close to the pier, where you can take a boat to the Asian area. The cable car near the hotel provides quick and direct access to Istiklal Street. The sanitation and facilities are very new. The service staff is friendly. It is a very good hotel.

Our stay at the Azzap Galata was thoroughly enjoyable. as many have stated, the staff are friendly and the rooms were cleaned every day to a very good standard. Before we arrived, the hotel contacted us directly with services that they could arrange during our stay and we took them up on a couple and were not disappointed. The hotel is quite small but that is exactly what we wanted. It was situated in a perfect location for people who want to go out walking and explore Istanbul, with either a guide or on their own. I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to stay at this hotel for a weekend break.

Nice little hotel, clean, quiet, friendly helpful staff. Room very smart. Very good restaurant on the 6th floor, with a very good breakfast of local and European foods. The 6th floor has a very good view of the Golden Horn, and also the Bosphorus waterways. A treat to have breakfast and watch the boats and ships sailing by. The breakfast time staff were very helpful and friendly. Access to shops and transport from the Azzap is easy- a short walk to the tram stop, and also the port. From hotel bedroom to the Asian side of Istanbul, was less then 40 minutes - a short walk to the ferry terminal, paid with the transport card (which can be purchased from the local machines with an appropriate credit or debit card), and waited 9 minutes for the boat. The boat journey was less than 20 minutes. Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. Would stay again... great base for lots to ee and do, .and also eat!

The best things about the Azzap are it’s friendly and helpful reception and housekeeping staff as well as it’s ideal location. The reception area is very stylish and smells wonderful. The big disappointment was the breakfast. The main staples of a Turkish breakfast for us are yogurt and bread. The yogurt provided was Activia and the bread resembled half baked bread as sold by UK supermarkets instead of the typical Turkish yogurt available in large quantities locally and the delicious inexpensive breads sold in every Turkish bakery. The selection of fruit was very poor, pineapple and melon initially together with strawberries which were generally not good quality. Later on during our stay there was kiwi fruit and oranges which were better but compared with the selection available in the local supermarkets the fruit was very uninspiring. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect some concessions to more European tastes for breakfast but only Turkish items were offered. One of the days we stayed was a National holiday. We arrived at 9.45, breakfast finished at 10.30. There was very little left on the buffet to chose from and no further food was put out. At 10.20 I asked for some more Turkish tea but was told it was finished. I found this very difficult to believe and totally against the hospitality normally found throughout Turkey. I complained to reception. The next day the response seemed to be that everything was back to normal so that was fine. As we had paid the same price for each day of our stay we expected the same level of service each day. There were a few issues with our room. I know that we stayed for 9 nights which is unusual but there was very little space to put clothing so we ended up living out of our suitcases except for being able to hang a few items of clothing. When we arrived the safe didn’t work so housekeeping picked up the safe and carried it away (before replacing it) which was a little disconcerting. The air conditioning is centrally controlled which is unusual and not ideal, on one occasion we had to ring reception and ask for the system to be switched to cooling in the middle of the night, but generally it didn’t cause us too many problems but might on other occasions. The hotel is situated on a street which is used as a car park most of the time. I was very nervous about how this would work out when our taxi came to pick us up for the airport. In the event it was fine the hotel kept in contact with the driver and a member of the hotel staff took our cases to the taxi a few minutes walk away in the main road. I would have considered returning to this hotel again but the breakfast would put me off.

Super disappointed with this hotel - definitely NOT 5* or anywhere close - more budget than anything else - pretty much a 3* hotel: -Room not properly cleaned - used contact lenses on the floor in the bathroom on arrival -In bathroom toiletries empty until asked to refill -Cleaner came into the room without knocking -Windows left open by cleaner despite it being 5c outside - meaning it was open all day as we were out exploring the city -Dirty towels on arrival to the room -Coffee pods scarcely replenished -Noisy room -Poor and rude customer service Only positive is the location and free water bottles. Overall very disappointed and would actively avoid. And if management come back the points above they are irrefutable and highlights the attitude of the hotel. Also not great value.

I saw this hotel from the outside and it was architecturally stunning, so I had to go in. I asked if they had a restaurant and/or bar, and they did. So we asked if we could just have a drink and they told us how to get there. We had a nice drink at the bar and fun with the staff. There are only four (cramped) seats at the corner of the bar, but it was just the two of us, so it worked out fine. The view of Istanbul from our seats and the restaurant seats is lovely. We are hoping to go back for lunch or dinner and if we can, we will ask for table #8 for two.
Response from Property: Dear Marcel M, Thank you for sharing your kind feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed the stunning views and had a pleasant experience at our bar. While the corner bar seats are a bit intimate, we’re pleased to know they worked well for you and your companion. We look forward to welcoming you back to Peyre Galata, the restaurant at Azzap Hotel Galata. We’ll gladly reserve Table #8 for you upon your next visit, whether for lunch or dinner. We look forward to hosting you again soon.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. The room and en-suite were not large but perfectly adequate, although depending on the length of your stay you might find that storage space could be a trifle limited. It is tastfully decorated and all very much as the photographs display. By virtue of the size of the hotel one is soon recognised by the staff and a very friendly and helpful relationship soon develops, it is very much like 'going home' when retunring the hotel in the afternoon/evening. Nothing is too much trouble and any request is quickly attended to. The roof top bar/restaurant is very comfortable with fantastic views of the City and the Bosphorus. The restaurant is well priced, has a good menu with excellent food. Having mistakenly ventured out to other restaurants (reported else where) we had all but one evening meal at the hotel we enjoyed it so much. Such are all the staff with their friendly and helpful customer relationship it seems inapprpriate to single out two Muoso (?) and Riza but both these two spent extra time with us by virtue of their attending to the bar and serving at table. Their very friendly, yet respectful approach, retentive memory of ones likes and dislikes together with impeccable attention to detail were a joy to be behold and receive. Thank you both, you were part of our decison to 'eat in". As we like to walk cities the hotel is very well located to gain access to all the major sites and particularly so when one has mastered crossing the road. Be brave, in reality all the road users seem much more relaxed than you might be. I would certainly recommend this hotel, everything about it made for a very enjoyable stay.
Response from Property: Dear Mr_Meldrew, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that you had a thoroughly enjoyable stay with us. It’s wonderful to know that our staff made such a positive impact on your experience, and we’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to Muoso and Riza – they will be thrilled to hear that their attention to detail and friendly service made such a difference. We’re glad you enjoyed our rooftop bar and restaurant with its fantastic views of the city and the Bosphorus. It’s always great to hear that our guests found our location convenient for exploring the city on foot, and we agree – with a little courage, crossing the roads in Istanbul becomes second nature! Thank you for recommending us, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Azzap Hotel Galata on your next visit. We’ll be here to make sure your stay is just as enjoyable as this one!
