The Marmara Pera

Istanbul|0.43km from Istiklal Avenue
Arrived last Friday evening, nice welcome, was informed I had to pay for my room, I had pre-paid, which on inspection, it was agreed I didn't have to pay again.... Dinner on Friday night was exquisite, fabulous service, amazing food, expensive but worth it, the restaurant and rooftop bar are independent of the hotel. Saturday morning, went for a lovely breakfast, back to the room and realised my room door did not lock, informed reception, and a gentleman arrived shortly afterward to check the door. Firstly he said it was my key card that was at fault. When I asked if I could show him the issue, he rolled his eyes and said no. When he did allow me to demonstrate, he walked away from me saying it was technical. I had to call after him to see if it would be fixed, he did not turn around but walking away said, ten minutes. the door was fixed eventually but the whole episode took around an hour. Before I left the hotel (11:20am) I dropped a dress at reception to be pressed. I got back to the hotel just before 9pm, went to my room, no dress, down at reception i asked where it was, the gentleman on reception called the laundry service, and at the end of the call, I had to ask what was happening. I was told laundry would call him back. He then asked what I had left, colour etc. so it could have been in the laundry in a sister hotel, I would get it on Sunday. I explained I was leaving on Sunday and needed the dress now, if it hadn't been ironed yet, to just return it to me.

AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Istanbul|0.69km from Istiklal Avenue
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Hotel Mara İstanbul

”My experience at the Mara Hotel in Istanbul, located just a few steps from Istiklal Street, was far from pleasant. I had originally booked a single room, but what I encountered didn't resemble a proper room. It seemed more like a converted space that might have once served as a doghouse or storage. The room was outdated, and the odor was reminiscent of a dirty public restroom in a remote location. I was left utterly speechless, questioning how they could offer such accommodations to guests. I strongly advise against placing too much trust in their ratings; it feels like a scam. Reluctantly, I declined the initial room and accepted a double bed room for an additional fee. Unfortunately, it was in a similar state, albeit slightly larger, with a double bed adorned with a dirty sheet riddled with hair and stains. The floor was equally grimy with dust and dirt. Whether or not you decide to give it a try, my personal experience was less than satisfactory. Cheers.”

Very noisy, not recommended, stay at the hotel recommended by Xiaohongshu net red. I really regret booking for two nights. There are actually many hotels near the Independence Street, so I don't need to live in the middle of the street to ”enjoy” the noise. Location: 1 or 4 points, if you like nightlife or want to easily visit Istiklal Street, it may be acceptable, but if you are a traveler with a tight schedule, this street view room is a nightmare. The hotel is located in the middle of Istiklal Street, looking down from the window to see people coming and going. Although it is very convenient to go shopping, locals and tourists start nightlife as soon as 11 pm. There is a nightclub opposite, and the music is blaring until 5 am. Although the hotel provides earplugs, it is of no use and the quality of sleep is very poor. There are indeed many spots in the hotel that are suitable for taking pictures of Internet celebrities, but the flaws are not concealed. No one can bear to be in the early hours of the morning, especially to get up early the next day to catch a plane to Cappadocia. Service, hygiene, facilities: average Breakfast: No breakfast, but the price is ok

Stay Lab Taksim

The hotel was undescribed, opened four months ago: the hotel's location is located right in the Taksim area on Independence Street, close to the Arab Return Mall. Secondly, the reception staff at the Ethics and Literature Summit are very collaborative in everything. Third: Espresolab coffee is available with a reduction in hotel guests and a 7th-order balcony to enjoy coffee in the atmosphere of a fourth-order: hotel cleaning and room cleaning and water delivery every day.

It was a great accommodation, starting with the gentleness and helpfulness of the Refik Bey in the meeting. Because we stayed as two girls, the hotel's magnificent location saw us not to freeze in the night and night. The room was made with a kitchen, breakfast was very beautiful. This was my second castle. I'll certainly stay again.

The location (everything was so close), the design (modern in every details), the variety of food in breakfast (they ask you if you want eggs in other way than there was on buffet), quality of service in every dept., cleanliness in combination with the price made our stay perfect!!! Double windows kept any noise away of our room. Transportation from/to airport was arranged by the hotel and worked perfect. Plenty of tv channels. Black out curtins. Coffee & tea and mineral water in the room that were replaced daily. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you guys!

Lovely small hotel in the bylanes off Istiklal. Beautifully designed rooms and comfortable too. The bathroom was splendid (I took pictures because I loved the tiles). Great beds. Lots of in room storage. And I must mention that the room had great lighting too (dim, inadequate lighting in hotel rooms is a pet peeve of mine). Staff were friendly and breakfast was adequate. Another great thing about this hotel is the location. It's surrounded by streets filled with local book shops, art galleries, small indie artists, designers and handmade stores. Absolutely enjoyed discovering and shopping from these hidden gems. It's also walkable to some great restaurants (like Nicole). High street shopping from the likes of Zara etc. are also just a few minutes away on Istiklal street. The hotel is also surrounded by clubs and bars which play music till late, so probably best to keep this in mind and ask for a quieter room. Another thing to note is that the street the hotel is on and the surrounding streets are all on narrow steep slopes, a bit tricky to navigate after a few drinks in the evening (as I discovered), Most taxis will also drop you close-ish but not quite near the hotel because of this too. Overall though, these negatives are very manageable and didn't put us off. Would stay here again!
