Mula Hotel

Sultan Ahmed Mosque Istanbul|0.38km from Sultanahmet Square
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mula Hotel in Istanbul with my family, including two toddlers, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Nestled in the heart of the old Sultanahmet area, the location couldn’t be more ideal. It’s within walking distance of all the major attractions, offering a perfect blend of convenience and cultural immersion. The surrounding area is a food lover’s paradise, with an array of great restaurants offering local and international cuisine. Plus, the easy access to the tram makes exploring the city a breeze. The hotel itself is a gem. My room was not only beautifully appointed but also boasted a stunning sea view that added a special touch to our family stay. Waking up to the serene vista of the sea was truly a highlight. The hotel’s family-friendly atmosphere made our stay with toddlers smooth and enjoyable. However, what really sets Mula Hotel apart is its exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was not just professional but genuinely warm and welcoming. Their constant smiles and readiness to assist at any hour truly made me feel valued and taken care of. From getting a bottle of water in the middle of the night to personal touches like waiters remembering my omelette preferences after just one day - every detail was noticed and appreciated. I must give special mentions to Ercan at the restaurant and Ilknur at the front desk. Their outstanding service and personal attention significantly enhanced my stay. Their professionalism and kindness reflect the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction. Coming from someone who travels significantly and has stayed in several fantastic properties across the world, I can confidently say that Mula is right up at the top, and a rarity among hotels. In conclusion, Mula Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it’s a destination that offers a memorable experience. Whether it’s the prime location, the beautiful rooms, the delicious food, or the unparalleled service, this hotel ticks all the boxes for an exceptional stay in Istanbul. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city, especially those traveling with family.

The Marmara Pera

Istanbul|2.76km from Sultanahmet Square
Arrived last Friday evening, nice welcome, was informed I had to pay for my room, I had pre-paid, which on inspection, it was agreed I didn't have to pay again.... Dinner on Friday night was exquisite, fabulous service, amazing food, expensive but worth it, the restaurant and rooftop bar are independent of the hotel. Saturday morning, went for a lovely breakfast, back to the room and realised my room door did not lock, informed reception, and a gentleman arrived shortly afterward to check the door. Firstly he said it was my key card that was at fault. When I asked if I could show him the issue, he rolled his eyes and said no. When he did allow me to demonstrate, he walked away from me saying it was technical. I had to call after him to see if it would be fixed, he did not turn around but walking away said, ten minutes. the door was fixed eventually but the whole episode took around an hour. Before I left the hotel (11:20am) I dropped a dress at reception to be pressed. I got back to the hotel just before 9pm, went to my room, no dress, down at reception i asked where it was, the gentleman on reception called the laundry service, and at the end of the call, I had to ask what was happening. I was told laundry would call him back. He then asked what I had left, colour etc. so it could have been in the laundry in a sister hotel, I would get it on Sunday. I explained I was leaving on Sunday and needed the dress now, if it hadn't been ironed yet, to just return it to me.

Turkoman Hotel

Sultan Ahmed Mosque Istanbul|0.13km from Sultanahmet Square
The Hotel Turkoman really was the centre of our fantastic family holiday to Istanbul. Even before we arrived the correspondence was prompt and accomodating. We arrived way before check-in to find that our room was ready and we were even offered breakfast (8am-10:30am) which was very much appreciated after flying from Australia. Breakfast was a highlight of each day with a changing array of cakes, hot food, fruit, vegetables, cereal, breads and cheeses. The lady serving would also teach us Turkish words and customs while feeding the trained seagulls. We stayed in the Bergama family room with a queen sized bed, separated by a bathroom and two single beds. This worked well for our family of 4 although climbing the stairs is challenging after a long day exploring. The room boasted a big window which we left open at night for the breeze but the A/C in the main room did work well, a TV which we never turned on, a tiny mini-fridge to cool bottled water and an over bath shower with good supply of hot water. The downside to the room is that it’s a bit dated and there were things like the exhaust fan being noisy and some lights not working. Street noise is a bit of a problem if you’re a light sleeper, there are no blockout blinds and the flip-side to being ridiculously close to the Blue Mosque is that the Call to Prayer is really loud but by our 4th night I was sleeping through it. Other than the location and price, it’s the staff which make this hotel a great experience. They are helpful, welcoming and were tirelessly tidying and cleaning while we were there. Speaking of location this hotel is so close to a lot of attractions and the tram stop that we would come back during the day just for showers to cool off and rest before heading out again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who can look past a few defects to stay right in the heart of Sultanahmet for a great price.

The location is excellent. You can see the Blue Mosque and the sea from the roof. The sunrise and sunset are great viewing spots. It is within ten minutes away from several major attractions, which is very convenient. Family hotel, breakfast is not many choices but very fresh and delicious, the service staff are both warm and authentic, we have been familiar with them for a few days, we talked a lot and it is very interesting, the room is relatively small, but enough, The bathroom is also very small, there is no five-piece set, toothpaste and toothbrushes are all self-provided, there is no hot water kettle, it is recommended to bring your own, shower gel and other spare parts will not be updated, you have to ask the hotel after you use it. Overall it is a wonderful experience, I will choose if I have the opportunity!

The location is really good. You can have breakfast upstairs in the hotel and you can see the Blue Cathedral. The transportation is very convenient. There are supermarkets nearby and the price/performance ratio is very good. If I come to Turkey next time, I will stay here again. The service staff are also very good. , the room is very clean and helpful

Sultan Ahmed Mosque
Hotel location is very good, very close to the Sofia Cathedral, the Blue Mosque. Do the airport bus ist20 line (16 lira per person), get off the big plaza of the Blue Mosque, walk 5, 6 minutes! Sitting on the rooftop just in time to enjoy the Blue Mosque (unfortunately has been repairing). The boss is very enthusiastic and will be enthusiastic about introducing fun places. The breakfast is quite rich: coffee, black tea, juice, boiled eggs, all kinds of nuts, fruits, bread... It is very comfortable for three days. If you want to visit the old town well, recommend it here.
