The Marmara Pera

Istanbul|0.48km from The Museum of Innocence
Arrived last Friday evening, nice welcome, was informed I had to pay for my room, I had pre-paid, which on inspection, it was agreed I didn't have to pay again.... Dinner on Friday night was exquisite, fabulous service, amazing food, expensive but worth it, the restaurant and rooftop bar are independent of the hotel. Saturday morning, went for a lovely breakfast, back to the room and realised my room door did not lock, informed reception, and a gentleman arrived shortly afterward to check the door. Firstly he said it was my key card that was at fault. When I asked if I could show him the issue, he rolled his eyes and said no. When he did allow me to demonstrate, he walked away from me saying it was technical. I had to call after him to see if it would be fixed, he did not turn around but walking away said, ten minutes. the door was fixed eventually but the whole episode took around an hour. Before I left the hotel (11:20am) I dropped a dress at reception to be pressed. I got back to the hotel just before 9pm, went to my room, no dress, down at reception i asked where it was, the gentleman on reception called the laundry service, and at the end of the call, I had to ask what was happening. I was told laundry would call him back. He then asked what I had left, colour etc. so it could have been in the laundry in a sister hotel, I would get it on Sunday. I explained I was leaving on Sunday and needed the dress now, if it hadn't been ironed yet, to just return it to me.

AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Istanbul|0.97km from The Museum of Innocence
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Chez Bore Boutique Hotel
2.9/526 Reviews
Be Mate Casa di Bava

The hotel is a surprise! It's warm, well decorated, super clean and comforting, and manager Tommam is so helpful about very thing! He called taxi for us (to airport with meter! amazing!). It's 8 mins walk to tram station or Galata port (museum and shopping mall and nice restaurant). Also we walked back from Taksim. Nice and boutique shops, and cheap market can both be found within 5 mins walk! Bars are almost downstairs....
The Loft Istanbul
4.4/597 Reviews
Thank you for the service Alex! The room was clean. The actual space is not that huge, but ample for a couple. The toilet however is a bit small. There was a small balcony outside my room with small table and chairs provided. Point to highlight: • The hotel is not kids or old folks friendly due to the location. One, its on a hill. You have to hike a lot if you came from Tophane tram station. Two, done with the hill now you have to deal with the stairs from the main road to go to the hotel entrance. No taxi will be available to send you to the hotel’s front. Three, there’s no elevator. It only has spiral stairs to go upper room. However the room and surrounding was so nice and cozy. There’s few bars nearby as well.
Hammamhane
4.8/583 Reviews
Our stay in Hammamhane was unforgettable, a true home-away-from-home experience. I initially made contact via email to check for availability of their studio apartment for our travel dates, and they immediately booked it for us as well. I highly recommend booking with Hammamhane directly as you get a number of benefits, including a very reasonable airport transfer on arrival. Each studio apartment seems to have its own identity, all the facilities are extremely modern and spotless with a kitchenette and washing machine. The hospitality and service was some of the best we experienced in all our travels, the hotel is on a hilly, single lane road and upon arrival by taxi they immediately carried our bags in and gave us an early check-in. They offered us free coffee and tea anytime during the day on request and their breakfast was excellent. They are in a very artsy district, walking distance from Istiklal street as well as the T1 tramline and the ferries, so it's a perfect mixture of local cafes and restaurants with quick access to all the usual tourist spots. They also have bars and wine bars easily accessible from the 1st floor entrance over the Hammam but far enough away that you don't hear any noise from your bedroom. I enjoyed every minute that we spent at Hammamhane and in this neighbourhood, my only regret is that we didn't stay here longer. Highly recommended and I cannot wait to return someday!
Louis Rooms
4.8/529 Reviews
My husband and I stayed at the Louis Rooms from October 1st for ten days. I made the reservation online direct with the hotel which was very easy to do. Any questions I had were answered immediately. At my request Louis Rooms organised a taxi to take us from the airport and back on the day of our departure. They provided very clear directions on where to meet the taxi which was necessary given the vast size of Istanbul Airport. We arrived at the hotel at midnight and was met by Hakan who gave us a very warm welcome. We proceeded to our room followed by Hakan shortly afterwards with our suitcases. We were on the 5th floor facing the street as we had requested. The room was a good size and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The ensuite, as was the room, spotless and well supplied with towels, shampoo, body wash and hairdryer. There was a well-stocked mini bar.   The following morning, I went to the balcony and was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful view we had of the Bosphorus.  The Louis Rooms is in an excellent area with many attractions, bars, cafes, and night life within easy walking distance.   The day after our arrival I fell and hurt my leg, foot and ankle and was unable to walk. Late that evening, I decided I needed to go to hospital because I was in so much pain. I asked Oznür if she could recommend a hospital which she did and immediately organised a taxi to take me there.   The following day I was unable to walk and Simay arranged for a wheelchair to be delivered to my room. I used the wheelchair for the remaining nine days we were in Istanbul.   After my accident the Louis Rooms staff gave me a bouquet of flowers which did cheer me up, and on my birthday, they gave a birthday cake complete with candles. The Louis Rooms staff went above and beyond their responsibilities.   I am sharing this information because all the staff at Louis Rooms were extremely helpful during my time of need, and I cannot but thank them for all their compassion and help. The staff made our vacation very memorable. We definitely will go back one day! Allan & Ada Jeffrey
The Soul Istanbul Hotel
4.5/576 Reviews
My wife and I enjoyed our week-long stay in the Soul Hotel in Istanbul in January 2023. We found a “home” there and got treated like “VIPs”. (I’m confident that EVERY Soul Hotel guest likely receives VIP TREATMENT, though.) Normally, I would not post a review because leaving a SUPER review has the potential to make it harder for me to find availability for my own stay. However, I see that recently there was posted a crazy review. People need to know that that review is baloney, and I don't believe one single word of it, and neither should you! I’m American and have stayed in hotels throughout the world, so I am quite experienced to say that there is a combination of factors that makes the Soul hotel one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in anywhere. The soul hotel is IMMACULATE. Not only is it clean, but it is also SAFE; the temperature controls in the room ALL work perfectly; the water pressure is SUPER; it is QUIET; the sheets and towels are new and high quality; it has a TERRIFIC breakfast; it’s a beautifully designed hotel with a lovely combination of antique and modern (see the photos)—BUT… incredibly----these are not even the best feature. THE BEST feature of the hotel is: its STAFF. They are ALL GOOD PEOPLE. The staff members really CARE about guests. They ALL speak English quite well and most speak other languages, too! They are trustworthy, knowledgeable, and helpful. When you combine all these elements together, it makes for a truly memorable experience that is even reasonably priced(!) On top of the pricing, the design, the excellent staff, the great food and immaculate cleanliness, THEN there's the LOCATION. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of the most charming part of Istanbul. There are antique shops and art galleries and coffee houses all around, and it’s even around the corner from the #1 Hammam Spa in Istanbul. It’s also located about 7 minutes walking distance from Istiklal Street, the major street where all the big shops are. There’s simply no better accommodations to be had in Istanbul. I invested an huge amount of time researching and vetting various hotels before choosing the Soul Hotel, and I chose entirely correctly. So, for free, you now get to benefit of all my investigations and experience, and I get to worry that I’ll have to fight you in the future for my own reservations. I wrote this because I couldn't ignore the reputation of this really fine establishment being attacked by crazy lies. Soul Hotel staff give their best for guests, and I feel obliged to stand-up against any bad things implied about this hotel. Soul Hotel is a CLASS ACT all the way.
