Best Hotels near Express, Jersey City

I would not even consider staying here. We brought our kids to New York City for the first time so we were not familiar with the area at all. We arrived early so we could possibly leave our car and take alternative transportation into the city.good luck with very limited parking in that lot. I’d you arrive later in the evening plan on parking further out. The area is very run down which felt unsafe to us. Upon entering the hotel we noticed just how dirty it actually was from the front of the hotel to the check in desk. It looked like no one has cleaned it in months. We talked to the front desk to inquire about canceling due to feeling unsafe and the hotel just seeming not clean. We were told they were sold out for the night however they would not allow us to cancel. I even called IHG reservations who tried to get them to allow us to cancel however they refused. It seems to me if they were fully booked they would allow us to cancel at 9 am. Very disappointed in this location.

I read some bad reviews and chalked it up to people expecting too much from the hotel. I should have listened and you should listen to my review and go elsewhere. I am literally lying in the bed typing this now. It couldn't wait. No on-site parking, you have to walk down a sketchy street to get your car($24 per day for self parking) There was exactly 2 parking spaces to park fir check in. One is occupied by a shuttle so there is one space. It's a busy street with one lane each way so getting into the one space was difficult. The area seems less than desirable. Low end shops and fast food. Crazy guy screamed at my wife and I so she wanted to come back to the hotel. I wouldn't be comfortable having my wife or kids here by themselves. Finally the room SUCKS, the bed is decent, bathroom seems ok. But it smells like mold. I feel like I am in basement that recently flooded. I am on the 5th floor not near the basement. Looks like an extremely cheap room makeover. Painted over damaged doors and walls. When I first stepped into the room it felt like I was going to fall thru the floor. A big super soft spot under the carpet. One of the dressers is missing the top drawer. I don't think the heat is working, it's 62 in the room and like 50 outside. You can tell they tried to cover the smell with something but it's not working. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and stay somewhere nicer. Good luck

We found this hotel with our three children. We had a room with a partial view on Manhattan. Even partial, this view has filled us. The Metro access for Times Square (33ee) is next to the hotel. We also loved the walk on the edge of the water that leads to an exceptional view of the city. The room was very good format for our family. There could have been more towels for our family of five. When we arrived, the service was very good, we could have access facilement(27$us)to an outdoor parking as we had a roofbox. I recommend this hotel for a family wanting to pay for access to the nearby station Path and for a wonderful view of the island!

The boss is an Indian and is still very enthusiastic. Although the location is a bit biased, you can change the subway by car. If you go to Times Square, you can take the bus directly. It will take you an hour to the terminal. The key price is cheap and free parking, and the price / performance ratio is very high. In addition, there are many Indians in this area. Most of the supermarkets do not sell alcohol. I found 4-5 stores before buying a beer.

We came down from Toronto for a few days. Family of 4 with 2 kids (2yo & 6yo). We chose the King suite for space, microwave and fridge. Our main focus was to visit American Dream Mall for Nickelodeon/ Dreamworks and quick visit to NYC. Convenient close drive to American dream approx 10min and 20min to Times Square (depending on what time you go). The hotel is located in an industrial business area so don’t expect much looking outside or walking around. The hotel is a bit dated but they keep It clean and presentable. The only issue I had upon arriving and departing was the automatic doors to keep open. They were not working on both sides of the building. It could have been useful when pushing in or out a trolley full of luggages but it’s not a deal breaker or end of the world. I didn’t even bother complaining about it to them. Everything was working in the room and was clean. The pictures I viewed on the internet matched exactly what I expected. On my second day I had a slight issue with a breaker being tripped. Javier at the desk was professional on handling the situation. He came up and opened the panel and switched it back on. Awesome service. The sofa bed is not the greatest or even close to terrible depending on the size of person. The actual mattress barely gives any support. It’s recommended to keep children on it than adults in my opinion, The complimentary breakfast was basic and it serves it purpose. I would say they did a great job on hosting it. Coffee, cereal, oatmeal, bagel, fruits, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches and fruits. I was happy with what they served. I ate it for 2 days. Overall it was a good experience and it was what I expected. The price is a great value. I would recommend this hotel for families. I would come here again. Thank you for keep up to your standards. The hotel is always busy at all hours because of the number of flights that come and go through Newark. That means the property is a little tired. However, I didn't mind any of this and don't think it takes away from a good experience overall. The only downside is the location is a bit confusing if you are driving.

Long way to the shuttle bus point and waiting more than 30 minutes for the next pick up. Other than this inconveniences, everything is ok in the hotel.
