Away from the hustle and bustle of Dali and Lijiang, Shaxi is a charming and tranquil ancient town—perfect for those seeking a quiet respite. We stayed at Shaxi Eudaemonia Inn, and it couldn’t have been more ideal. Nestled right in the heart of the ancient town, the inn is within walking distance of everything—local food, sights, and entertainment. What stood out most was the hospitality of the inn’s owner and his reliable team. At Eudaemonia, you’re welcomed with open arms. The owner is deeply knowledgeable about the town’s history and offered us excellent recommendations for places to explore both within and beyond the ancient town. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we spent peaceful moments sipping tea in the inn’s lovely garden or meandering through the town’s laid-back streets. If you’re visiting, I’d recommend spending at least four slow, unhurried days here to let Shaxi Eudaemonia Inn truly mesmerize you.

This Inn is a sea of tranquility. The location is quiet but so close to the heart of the town. The owner was very helpful in getting there and in helping us find our way in town. The public space and the rooms in this Inn are beautiful, all very clean and tranquil. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower strong. The decor was also really nice. Shaxi is stunning, and this Inn really helped make the place feel magical. If I come back to Shaxi, I'll try to stay here again.

The room is big enough, with sofas and tatami. The yard is also big. You can sit in the yard more often when you come to Shaxi, relax, and don't rush. You can be as leisurely and casual as at home. Wannian All Seasons, I haven't stayed in a homestay for a long time. I chose it casually and didn't expect to be pleasantly surprised. The room is very large and transparent, and the small yard is very beautiful with many succulents. The bathroom, mattress and hair dryer are all branded. Very good. It is very close to Shaxi Temple Street, which can be said to be quiet in the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended.

The owner takes good care of the plants in the yard. On rainy days, you can see the roses blooming all over the wall and the Bai ethnic group's characteristic camellias flying over the eaves when you look out from the glass window. I like the wooden rocking chair and the swing the most. It is very comfortable and quiet to have breakfast in the yard.

The room is clean and tidy, and the sanitation is timely. It is only a stone's throw away from Sideng Street. The experience of traveling here is very good. More importantly, the thoughtful and considerate service of the owner makes you feel very cordial. Actively contacted for pick-up, and the tea and fruit prepared for the guests made us feel the warmth of home. It was great. I will come to Xiaotuanyuan to enjoy this warmth next time.

The overall feeling is comfortable and at ease. From check-in to check-out, the feeling of being free and easy always accompanies me. I arrived at around nine o'clock in the evening, took a taxi to the main temple, called the housekeeper to pick me up, and walked to the inn in two or three minutes. The room is clean and refreshing, and the decoration combines the characteristics of Shaxi with many modern elements. The hot water needs to be left for a while, and the temperature is very good. I was surprised that the water can be so hot on a winter night. The room was a little cool without air conditioning in mid-December, and the temperature was just right for my physique that is afraid of heat but not cold. The bed was thick and comfortable, and I lay down and had a good night's sleep. There is a 1.5-hour time difference between Shaxi and Beijing time. Of course, you can go to the town to stroll after 9 o'clock in the evening. It is very close to the Grand Theater Commercial Street, and you can say that you can get there by just raising your feet. The day of check-in was the fifteenth day of the winter month. Looking at the bright moon hanging in the sky, accompanied by the twinkling stars around, even breathing feels clear and thorough! There were not many people, and bars and teahouses along the way were still open, accompanied by guitars and singing. Unfortunately, I am not good at drinking and afraid of smoking. After wandering around for a long time, I decided to go back to the inn. As a result, hahahaha, there were housekeepers and guests roasting fire together in the hotel lobby. There was water, tea, and peanuts roasted on the fire at any time. It was a great pleasure to chat with strangers. Early in the morning, I went out to the Heihui River again, watching the morning mist floating slightly and the distant mountains in sight. People who had not moved for a long time could not help but run and wander in the beautiful scenery. Blown through by the cold wind of the winter morning, people were tired from running. When I returned to the inn, a hot breakfast was served. I could only imagine the comfort. The inn is a courtyard on three sides. During the day, the warm sun shines. The old painter who comes to check in every day writes his memoirs in the courtyard, accompanied by a pot of tea. The endless green of the courtyard and the red clothes dotted in it make people gradually intoxicated.

I am glad that I chose this courtyard when I went to Shaxi. The inn is located in the center of Shaxi Town. The housekeeper said that he would pick us up at the parking lot near the main temple, but we were too confident and missed the nearest intersection by navigating. After walking around Dongzhaimen, we called the housekeeper and found the inn quickly after being pointed out. So next time, remember to ask the inn to pick us up. The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, and the service is good. It is quiet in the bustling area, and it is very close to the ancient theater, Dongzhaimen, and Yujin Bridge.

We stayed on the last day of the Golden Week. Maybe it was busy during the Golden Week, so we didn't contact the store in advance. When we arrived at the inn, there was only one service staff. We had to push our luggage for a while and carry it to the second floor. The courtyard environment was good, with lush greenery, and we could drink tea. The room was relatively new and spacious. I hope that next time there will be enough staff and the experience will be better.

We originally planned to stay for two days, but changed it to three days because we really have no vacation, otherwise I would like to live here permanently.
