GGuest UserThe B&B owner is super nice! We were upgraded to a bigger room because the room was not cleaned on the day we checked in. This B&B has no shortcomings in terms of geographical location, hygiene, facilities, etc. The proprietress will pick you up and drop you off at the ancient city and the farm. There was a particularly warm library, and we spent the entire afternoon there on our first day.
The room is very large and has all the necessary facilities. The entire homestay is so beautiful that it looks great no matter how you take photos of it. There are some small animals on the farm on the mountain. The calves and lambs all look very healthy. The whole homestay gives people a very relaxing atmosphere. You can take pictures of the stars from the rooftop of the restaurant. There is a large field at the door, and the view is super good without any obstruction. Because they are the first one at the entrance of the village, other B&Bs probably don’t have such a good view. The breakfast provided by the B&B is super delicious, with fresh milk that was just squeezed that day and a variety of fresh vegetables. If you don't want to go out for lunch or dinner, the B&B can also provide it. The meals are all fresh, and the vegetables just picked from the field will be super delicious if you just stir-fry them. The staff are also very friendly.
If I return to Shaxi Ancient Town for tourism, I will definitely stay at their place again.

I had a wonderful time staying here. My room was very clean and comfortable. The toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, bed linen were of high-quality. You also get two bottles of water daily.The room was spacious with a full-sized sofa to lounge on. There was also a tatami mat by the window that was great to lay down on after a busy day. You can turn on the overhead shower heat lamp that keeps you warm after you turn off the shower.
Breakfast is a delicious bowl of noodles with a hard boiled egg, corn and coffee (Americano or latte). There is outdoor seating where you can help yourselves to walnuts, melon seeds and fruit. Great way to socialize.
The location is perfect. Close enough to the main street but away from the noise.
The owners are warm, friendly and helpful. They are a good resource for information on activities in Shaxi, including transportation. They arranged for us to take a seven seater business van to Dali at 20% of the price of a taxi. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
Tip: As no cars are allowed in the Ancient Town, you have to ask your taxi driver to drop you off at Benzhu temple (本主寺）where the owners will help you with your luggage. Do contact them before you arrive.

Basically do not comment, unless it is very good or very bad. This is very good. Let me talk about the parts that I am particularly satisfied with: 1. Food: Everyone who takes the baby out knows that there are delicious foods on the trip. This proprietress will make Chinese and Western dishes, as well as Bai specialties. We arrived in the afternoon and told the phone boss in advance that we might have to eat, and then we ate the super delicious small stew, and the beef patties were also delicious. After dinner in the ancient town, I was tired and went back to the hotel without eating anything. I still relied on the rice noodles and potato cakes of the proprietress for a full night. The next day, the breakfast proprietress also made wheat buns and jam made by herself, which was delicious. 2. Atmosphere: The homestay in my mind is not the kind of homestay that makes a small atmosphere, but has local characteristics, own store, and understands the guests. This boss is a local, and he has been a homestay for many years. He has taken into account the needs of the guests and retained local characteristics. It is too friendly to drink tea around the fireplace. There is also a Bai dragon piano, which makes my husband addicted. 3. Service: The boss is very familiar with the local area. Tell the boss about his needs. The boss will give a good plan. If you go to the ancient town, you can contact the boss to pick you up at any exit. It is really delicious to recommend the delicious wild mushroom hot pot in the ancient town. The house is the boss's own house. Ttravelbug123As I booked two rooms seperately, this is the same review as my first. This has got to be my most memorable stay while travelling around Yunnan. Operated by a lovely couple, this homestay is tasteful and thoughtful and has all the necessity you need for a great night sleep and more. I wished I stayed a few more days as it was such a peaceful and beautiful home to be in. Decked across two floors, I think the bigger rooms are on the second floor which they will help with carrying luggages. The smaller rooms seems to be on the ground floor. Location wise, while they are not located in the old town itself, that's the beauty of it. The environment is thus peaceful and quiet and they have offered to drive us into the main town if needed. Breakfast was thoughtful, nutritious, beautifully presented and served at the tea area. One cannot help but feel culturally transformed by the hospitality of this place. I truly wish them all the best in their new business adventure. Even my elderly parents were impressed. Hope to be back again.

GGuest UserA very exquisite treasure homestay. When you first enter the courtyard, the flowers everywhere make you feel happy. You can feel the care of the proprietress in every corner of the house, and every window view is a painting.
The homestay is about 10 minutes' drive from the ancient town, and the proprietress needs to pick you up in and out. If you want to go anywhere around, the proprietress can also send you, which is very suitable for people who come to Shaxi to rest.
In other aspects, it can be said to be customized service. For example, the type of breakfast, milk before bed, etc. I remember that there was a power outage on the two days we went there. In order to make coffee for me, the proprietress directly ground it by hand, which was so touching.
It took more than half a month to comment after I came back. I miss every day in Shaxi so much. Next time I will bring my children to play together, especially recommended for people who like quietness.

The beauty lies in the reasonable and unique architectural layout of this B&B; the internal facilities are very smooth and the supplies are very practical and of high quality; the location is so convenient, whether you are alone or driving, it is convenient to park and take a car to the scenic spots and popular check-in spots in a few steps. YYH_2023To start with, Shaxi is such a precious jewel. The historic preservation collaboration between ETH and Chinese scholars and the locals is impressive. The harmony formed by the nature and the man-made environment is incredible. We wish we had more time to stay and dive deeper.
And we absolutely loved our stay at the Flower Inn. It’s really close to the core of the town yet very quiet and peaceful. The garden is meticulously cared for. The most special is an impressive 2-story library housing the owners’ personal book collections. They recently opened the library to the community a few days a week - a generous way to share knowledge and wisdom, and bring the community closer together.
The owners are very warm, interested in making friends and sharing their experience. I really enjoyed an evening chat with them and listening to the stories about the town’s history, preservation, local lifestyles and much more.
We would love to come back to Shaxi in the future and stay at the Flower Inn again.

GGuest UserThe B&B is about 2 minutes away from the pedestrian street. It is easily accessible by car. It is convenient to unload luggage and there is no need to drag luggage along the stone road. It is very convenient. When traveling, I always hope that my accommodation will be clean, quiet and brightly lit. Lanyue B&B exceeded my expectations on these three points.
The rice noodles for breakfast at the B&B are particularly delicious, and hot fresh milk is provided in the evening. The room is spacious and the bed is very good to sleep on. There are almost no faults.
Shaxi is different from other ancient towns that have become commercialized and stereotyped. The scenery here is beautiful, and the shops have a literary style and are full of human touch. You will meet kind and cheerful people who are willing to help, such as the owner of Lan Yue B&B, the little yellow car (No. 50), The owner of Xi Farmhouse Farmhouse Cuisine and Riverside Fish Restaurant, stayed here for two days, and still lingered over it. It is worth coming back.

🛏️ Room is clean and well maintained. There is no air-conditioning (which I think the weather there definitely does not need it), there is electric heater & blanket, humidifier in the room which is definitely handy for the cold weather. We really love the original design charm of the B&B. Just a small note there is no door to the bathroom but there is a curtain to drawn
👭 The innkeeper are very friendly and responsive. As the ancient town does not allow car to be driven in, the 2 helpful ladies came out to help us with the luggage which can be tricky to wheel on the cobbled stone pathway. One of the room light was flicking late at night and the sweet lady spot it and immediately came up to our room to check and offer to fix it.
Overall was a pleasant stay and wish we have more nights in Shaxi. Looking forward to staying here again on our next visit.

ZZaidalideyinianLocation: Very close to the entrance to the ancient town, with convenient parking. The alley is quiet and within easy walking distance of the nearby snack street. I love Shaxi Ancient Town's leisurely pace and have enjoyed it several times. Staying here was a real win.
Environment: While the courtyard isn't large, it's well-maintained. There's a small garden on the first floor and a pavilion on the second. Sitting on the small terrace on the second floor, gazing at the mountains and listening to the breeze is an ideal getaway. This is the rhythm of life in Shaxi.
Room Facilities: The overall atmosphere is very comfortable. The house seems to have been renovated from an old local house. The room features solid wood tables and chairs, modern furniture, and comfortable bedding. They provide drip coffee, and the minibar is well-stocked. The breakfast is also quite varied.
Service: The hotel staff communicated promptly with relevant information. The owner said he had been visiting Yunnan for several years and finally settled in Shaxi. It is truly a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
