Wanda YI, Suite Xishuangbanna

The room was disappointing. We were given an old, low-floor room that felt like a converted apartment. After speaking with the butler and Ctrip customer service about changing rooms, the butler said there were no other rooms available and suggested we find another hotel. Ctrip customer service, however, offered a partial refund or the option to switch hotels. In the end, we decided not to change hotels since we were only staying one night before flying back to Beijing. The actual room was very different from what was shown in the pictures. The twin beds were only 1.2 meters wide, which is definitely not suitable for a family of three – families traveling with children should be very cautious! Plus, the mattress and bed frame were separate, and the two beds were only 40 cm apart. Getting up at night meant constantly bumping your legs, which was incredibly annoying! The whole experience was awful!! I booked a room with a view, but you can see the actual environment in the photos.

The room was spacious, with a tatami area, a living room, and even a bar. It was very clean and conveniently located, with no traffic issues. Our butler, Dongdong, was incredibly helpful in coordinating the room and responded to messages instantly – the service was truly exceptional. The kids' play area had a 'bean pod' (guessing a type of craft or play item) that used much better materials than those found outside, and more of them too! My only wish is for two more topping options for the breakfast rice noodles.

It's a hotel apartment, so don't expect a typical hotel experience. We had to wait until 4 PM to check in during peak season. And when we finally got into the room, the hygiene was like this [implied poor hygiene]. Plus, I'm not sure if the TV even had power, the wires were a mess. The attention to detail is really lacking. I was totally misled by the 'Wanda' brand name.

The butler, Dongdong, provided excellent service and was very responsive to all our requests. Upon arrival, they even upgraded our room, which was very spacious. The hotel's location is quite good, close to Mae Haad and Mae Yang Guang, where Mae Yang Guang has a night market with delicious BBQ in the evenings. The hotel breakfast was quite varied and started before 7 AM, though it could be a bit chilly eating in the morning. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

This was our second time in Xishuangbanna, and we chose Yihua. When we arrived, our butler, Dongdong, had already arranged a car to pick us up from the train station. The driver communicated very well and arrived at the correct location. They also helped us upgrade to a larger suite, which we really appreciated. We booked the hotel's car for two days, and both drivers were excellent. They recommended attractions, helped us plan our route to avoid crowds, and even took us to the largest fruit market and suggested great local eateries. Our room had a living room, a balcony, and even a washing machine in the kitchen. Having a washing machine when traveling is truly a lifesaver!

Perfect for families with kids! The complex has a great environment, and my child got so excited as soon as they saw the pool. The room was apartment-style. It's very close to the Riverside Night Market and Manting Park, and you can easily get there by electric scooter. Plus, there are four peacocks guarding the hotel entrance, which my child absolutely loved! 💕
