Jixiang Valley Hotel

I had an overall okay stay here. The building, whilst basic, was well positioned and close to shops and restaurants, and the room itself was well equipped with great views of Jinghong and the river. My biggest issue during my stay was the air conditioning, which, whilst bearable, never really got cold despite being set to the lowest temperature. This made the room uncomfortable at times, especially during the day in Jinghong’s sweltering heat. Aside from the air conditioning issue, I thought the hotel presented decent value for money.

I have to start by saying that the staff are amazing. Even though they don’t speak English, especially this one young woman was very helpful. She would show up at the door and use a translator to offer help. I was also helped to get transportation to the botanical garden. This is very different from the bad service I received in another hotel there. The hotel itself is older and needs to be renovated; it needs new furniture and better soundproofing for the noise from the street. There is no breakfast or a swimming pool. Considering the quality of the service, I recommend the hotel. Pictures of the view included.
