Suyun Village Reviews

Our stay at Suyun Village was wonderful. We stayed two nights during a pause in our travels from Dunhuang to Xi'an. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful, the food was excellent (we are still talking about the breakfasts), the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained. In the afternoons the courtyards were busy with people, eating, playing cards, drinking tea, and enjoying the company of friends and family. At night and in the mornings the place was peaceful, with the mountains in the distance and a hot cup of tea in hand it felt separated from the modern world by time and space. A glimpse into the past that won't be soon forgotten. Su Yun Xiang Zhuang is a special place, if we ever pass that way again we will certainly stay a few more nights.

After 4 trips to China spanning 29 years, this is by far our favourite place we have stayed and I do hope we can come back one day. It is out of town but worth the effort . Our hosts were amazing helping us to arrange a car and driver for a days touring the next day, the onsite restaurant serves lovely food. We love the setting with the rustic charm and tour of the property and the owners collection. The room is immaculate, with all the amenities you need and balcony to sit outside. Their own tea blend and apricot juice a speciality of the area, the list goes on. As China continues to industrialise, building modern 'new hotels' that are mostly souless, places like Suyun Village are gems and are something to be cherished.

Our group of friends had an amazing time at the Suyun Village Hotel in Jiuquan, Gansu. The staff and owner were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The owner, a talented artist, treated us like family, sharing his local and cultural knowledge over cups of delicious tea. We loved the spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, perfect for relaxation. The hotel had cozy spots inside and outside to soak up the sun while enjoying a good book. The hot pot dinner was mouthwatering and warmed us up on chilly nights. With its convenient location, we easily explored Jiayuguan Pass and the Great Wall. This hotel's hospitality was top-notch, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!

I took my children on a trip during the holidays. My emotions were up and down along the way. The moment I walked into Suyun, my heart calmed down. The troubles of the world stopped at this moment. Every place and every scene was simple and unpretentious. The little yellow and Little Gray ran around happily wagging his tail, adding a breath of life and healing his soul. The original plan was just to take a short rest before continuing on the road. I was reluctant to leave, so I stayed in the small courtyard for another day. Su Yun Use the simplest ingredients to create the taste of memory, and a cup of tea after the meal will extend the breadth of happiness.

First of all, Suyun is worth the trip. First I was attracted by the name, then I was moved by the culture, and finally I was retained by the environment. I have stayed in many B&Bs. I personally think that a good B&B can let you intuitively feel the owner's tone, life attitude and cultural attributes. The courtyard is neat and orderly, mainly based on folk customs, with many old objects collected, and the courtyard is large. Although it is a Gobi desert in the northwest, the flowers, plants and trees are kept lush and green. Every word is written by the owner himself, and every collection can tell a story. The quality of the accommodation and bedding is very good, the meals are authentic specialties, and everyone exudes the simplicity and enthusiasm of the locals. Wherever you live, you choose to meet a group of people, put down your impetuous mood, put down your hostility, and let your body and mind truly belong to this place. The small town may be a little desolate, but a group of people overcame natural conditions and carefully built this place for Meet a better you on the journey.

It's beautiful in winter and even more beautiful in summer. I'm very satisfied with the place. The owner, the store manager and the cook are all very nice. The place is full of warmth and I will stay here again if I have the chance.

A large courtyard with a very rustic feel, very cozy, with cute cats and dogs. It was already late at night when we arrived. Thank goodness the boss for waiting for so long to help us check in. We dined here the next day. Four of us had copper pot hot pot. We were very satisfied and the seasoning was very fragrant. Tutu looked at us eagerly under the table while we were eating. It was so cute!

It's a farmhouse that does catering. There are only a few guest rooms. At noon and in the afternoon, the place is full of guests who come to eat and play cards. There is no reception and no service to speak of. I was deceived by the picture and thought it was a very interesting small courtyard of a homestay. This price is more expensive than many hotels. Totally not worth it. The electric water heater is only enough for two people to take a shower on such a hot day. The child took 10 minutes to bathe, and my husband took 5 minutes, and then I had to wait for the water to boil. And it’s very remote. In an unfinished building. There's nothing nearby.

A very good experience, with a northwest-style charm, and the food is also very good. I happened to see this B&B as a passing point for Northwest Zhixing Jiuquan, and the experience of this B&B made the trip perfect.

Very unique and the service is very good, but it is relatively biased. We arrived at the hotel very late in the evening, and the boss waited until very late. The food was delicious, and the boss even heated the food we brought!

The dinner at this restaurant is super delicious😋 We ordered three dishes. The lamb was tender and crispy, the mashed potatoes were made to look like potato chips, and the texture was soft and glutinous, and the seasonal vegetables were also fresh. There are two cute little cats in the yard. They squat beside you and look at you eagerly when you eat.

A different experience, an authentic town, but a bit cold. It is the most expensive to eat during National Day, even more expensive than Ejina. The balcony on the second floor is comfortable for drinking tea and viewing the view. The bed is a bit small.
