Art Hotel Joetsu
"The room is clean and spacious enough to have multiple luggages. The bed is confrtable. The staff is really helpful 🙂"
Toyoko Inn Joetsu Myoko Eki Nishi Guchi
"My wife and I have had a 3-night stay at this Toyoko Inn Joetsu Myok Eli Nishi Gucci Room #1306 from 13 to 16 October 2025. The Hotel is just a 1-minute walk away from the Joetsumyoko Station. Similar to other Toyoko Inns, the modest reception is on the First Floor and it has limited parking lots on besides the Hotel, and also a bigger open car park about a 2-minute walk away. So we are grateful and thankful that we were given a lot for just ¥300 per day for 3 days at the open car park very nearby. The Hotel staff are polite and helpful, and are not quite able to communicate in simple English. As the Hotel is located quite away from the city centre of this very small city, so there is no shopping centre nearby except a few eateries are near the Station and within comfortable walking distance. The hotel room is the standard typical type whereby it is small but very clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable for our liking, and the small bathroom - again the typical Japanese type - is clean and its has strong water pressure for a comfortable shower. Like all Toyoko Inns, the Hotel provides daily breakfast of simple home cook styles; varieties are limited, but it is very comforting that gives a nice start for the day. Also, it offers free coffee and tea via machines 24 hours daily. At SGD S$97 per night with breakfast, we find it value for money and we will choose to stay here if we travel to Joetsu or Myoko again."
Super Hotel Joetsumyokoeki Nishiguchi
"Convenience breakfast’s delicious for everyone"
Hotel Heimat
"It was conveniently located in front of the station, and the front desk staff were courteous and friendly. The room was a semi-double twin, so I was able to relax comfortably. There were many restaurants near the hotel, and a convenience store nearby, so I think it's a very convenient location for traveling from Naoetsu Station."
Hotel Monzennoyu
"The newly renovated facilities are decent, which is why it's cheap. However, the rooms don't have showers, and the public bathhouse is off-limits to people with tattoos, making it impossible to shower. The location is in an area with many shops, making it convenient to drive there. I have no complaints about staying one night."
HOTEL ROUTE-INN JYOUETSU
"They were very accommodating with my last-minute reservation change. The hotel is clean, but its distance from the station is a bit inconvenient for business trips. I would like to use it again."
Takada Terminal Hotel
"It was a decent value and I enjoyed my stay and the free brakefast and extremely kind staff but the room was quite dated and you can hear everything from the other rooms around you and hallway. And the aircon didn't work and it was WARM at night."
Hotel Century Ikaya
"This hotel was chosen as a midpoint before going up from Nagano to Niigata city. It is a hotel with a lot of history. I stayed in the main building, and it definitely felt old. It was clean enough that there were no problems with accommodation. It didn't seem like there were many guests because of its location, but the service was good, and breakfast was not buffet style, but a set meal, but it was quite neat and the taste was good."
Unohama Hot Springs Mikaku
"This is a small hot spring inn near the beach. We stayed in a barrier-free Japanese-Western room and had dinner in our room. It's an old inn, but the rooms have just been renovated and are new and clean. There is also a UCC drip pod in the room. When we arrived at the inn, we were told that we could use the private garden open-air bath for free, so we went in right away. It was a spacious rock bath that you wouldn't expect to be private. Because it's close to the sea, the water felt a little salty. The large public bath has an open-air bath and an indoor bath, and the water was very warm. Dinner was a luxurious menu with crab and sashimi, as expected from Umai Kaisho, and breakfast was a buffet with many simple side dishes. The food was delicious, but the newly cooked rice cooked in the hearth was sweet and very delicious. I heard that it was ordered from a nearby farmer. The staff were very kind and we were able to relax very much."

Sankei
"The inside of the building is a very clean inn. I was impressed that the inn was also beautiful. The room is a Japanese-Western style room with a semi-open-air bath. It is a very elegant and calm room unified in a thin beige system. The bed is a double bed and is unified with hobby linen. The wash area is also large and clean. In the indoor bath, there is an open-air bath that can be put in by about two people, and it is a good hot spring with red hot spring flowers floating. There is no lotion in the wash area, but it was set in the equipment of the room. Dinner was a room meal. It was a beautiful and delicious meal with a beautiful vessel. Sake is from 300cc 1000 yen for local sake. Breakfast was served at the venue. It was also delicious here. There was also an American coffee service. It was a stay with a delicious meal and a good hot spring at a beautiful inn."
Kamoya
Joetsu Sun Plaza Hotel
"The equipment is outdated and the elevators are poorly installed."
Minatoso
"The heating in the breakfast area wasn't working. It was cold, given the time of year! I wish it could at least be comfortable during that time!"
Hotel Joetsu Public City
"The place was incredibly unclean. As soon as I entered the lobby, I smelled cigarette smoke, and the room smelled of mold. There was a lot of dust in the crevices of the bed and sofa, indicating a shoddy cleaning job. The bathroom smelled like sewage and was unusable. The toilet had black mold and the walls were dirty, making it disgusting. The bed was as hard as a board and unbearable to sleep on, and the pillow smelled of old age, making it unusable. Breakfast was also terrible; I only ate the rice, natto, and miso soup. It was definitely not worth the price. No matter how cheap it was, I would never go back."
