Toyoko Inn Joetsu Myoko Eki Nishi Guchi
"My wife and I have had a 3-night stay at this Toyoko Inn Joetsu Myok Eli Nishi Gucci Room #1306 from 13 to 16 October 2025. The Hotel is just a 1-minute walk away from the Joetsumyoko Station. Similar to other Toyoko Inns, the modest reception is on the First Floor and it has limited parking lots on besides the Hotel, and also a bigger open car park about a 2-minute walk away. So we are grateful and thankful that we were given a lot for just ¥300 per day for 3 days at the open car park very nearby. The Hotel staff are polite and helpful, and are not quite able to communicate in simple English. As the Hotel is located quite away from the city centre of this very small city, so there is no shopping centre nearby except a few eateries are near the Station and within comfortable walking distance. The hotel room is the standard typical type whereby it is small but very clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable for our liking, and the small bathroom - again the typical Japanese type - is clean and its has strong water pressure for a comfortable shower. Like all Toyoko Inns, the Hotel provides daily breakfast of simple home cook styles; varieties are limited, but it is very comforting that gives a nice start for the day. Also, it offers free coffee and tea via machines 24 hours daily. At SGD S$97 per night with breakfast, we find it value for money and we will choose to stay here if we travel to Joetsu or Myoko again."
Art Hotel Joetsu
"Just a few minutes walk from Takada station, and right next to the local shopping district. The hotel may feel a little old, but the staff are lovely, and the room was spotless. Great for a short stay."
HOTEL ROUTE-INN JYOUETSU
"We stayed in one non-smoking semi-double room for three people, both male and female. The room was clean and had a calming color scheme, making it a relaxing experience. Our companions also said that the large public bath allowed them to stretch their legs and relax after a long drive. We initially booked a room-only stay, but the complimentary breakfast was a great bonus."
Hotel Heimat
"It was conveniently located in front of the station, and the front desk staff were courteous and friendly. The room was a semi-double twin, so I was able to relax comfortably. There were many restaurants near the hotel, and a convenience store nearby, so I think it's a very convenient location for traveling from Naoetsu Station."
Hotel Century Ikaya
"This is a hotel that has been open for more than a hundred years. It is just opposite Naoetsu Station. It has convenient transportation and good services. There are rice and bread options for breakfast, coffee, tea, and water are self-service. Side dishes include vegetarian salad + freshly made cheese egg rolls + bacon + 2 sausages. The lunch in the restaurant was also very good, and the steak I ordered was also very delicious."
APA Hotel Joetsu Myoko Ekimae
"It's an apartment used for touring, so it's clean. There are a few izakayas nearby at night, but if you want to eat and drink in your room, there's only a convenience store nearby, so it's better to stop by a supermarket to buy something to take with you. Also, if you open the window, lots of small insects come in."
Hotel Monzennoyu
"As advertised, the hot springs were very relaxing, and I went in multiple times. The rooms and meals were average. I think it's good value for money."
Unohama Hot Springs Mikaku
"This is a small hot spring inn near the beach. We stayed in a barrier-free Japanese-Western room and had dinner in our room. It's an old inn, but the rooms have just been renovated and are new and clean. There is also a UCC drip pod in the room. When we arrived at the inn, we were told that we could use the private garden open-air bath for free, so we went in right away. It was a spacious rock bath that you wouldn't expect to be private. Because it's close to the sea, the water felt a little salty. The large public bath has an open-air bath and an indoor bath, and the water was very warm. Dinner was a luxurious menu with crab and sashimi, as expected from Umai Kaisho, and breakfast was a buffet with many simple side dishes. The food was delicious, but the newly cooked rice cooked in the hearth was sweet and very delicious. I heard that it was ordered from a nearby farmer. The staff were very kind and we were able to relax very much."
Takada Terminal Hotel
"The sake at the izakaya on the first floor was fantastic!"

Kamoya
Wasuke
"This inn is located along the coast of the suburbs of Joetsu City. It is a guest house with a reputation for delicious food. Dinner was very satisfying with the kaiseki style that served elaborate dishes in order with a large number of items. Perhaps this season, I was surprised to see a full of red snow crab. Breakfast is also very satisfying. It is similar to a cooking inn. The room was a guest house, so there was no particular problem. The room was a room with a Western-style bed. It was good to use the bath until 9 in the morning."
