Our family had a truly wonderful stay. My only regret is that we did not have an extra day to stay. It is remarkable how beautiful the whole place is; the buildings are magnificent and the grounds and pool delightful. The staff was great as well and were very kind; I would say that we benefited from our kids being fairly fluent in Spanish. During our stay, there was a fiesta very close to the property, which was perhaps not ideal but was not too bad. We all enjoyed our meals in the restaurant by the pool and would recommend having a cocktail at the bar in the restaurant before dinner. Also, San Gabriel is not too far from Taxco or Xochicalco, which make for good day trips. Just be sure to leave plenty of time for being at the Hacienda!

Hacienda San Gabriel is a magical place with palatial suites, exquisite grounds, and a wonderful restaurant which together deliver a remarkable and unique holiday experience at a good price. I particularly enjoyed exploring the numerous "secret places around the buildings and gardens. The January weather was absolutely perfect throughout our 5 day stay with sunny and warm afternoons followed by pleasant cool evenings. Our day trip to the Xochicalco national archeological site and museum was incredible with very few visitors. The "magical village" of Tepotzlan was a fun market town to visit with a monastery and a terrific restaurant El Ciruela. If you are seeking a quiet and unique central Mexican holiday you should consider this place.

I've now been coming here for 15 years, and I have never yet had a bad experience. Great swimming pool, great rooms, great locations for a private dinner, great colonial setting and beautiful grounds and lake. the best thing has repeatedly been the staff, especially Victor and Juan Carlos in the restaurant, Karem and Beatrice in reception and Don Gerardo with the horses. Can't recommend the hacienda enough.

It's tough to go to Mexico when it's 104 F and there is very little AC options. The hacienda is gorgeous and would be a great place to relax and enjoy if it had been cooler. The wedding reception was a blast and it was a great atmosphere to be enjoyed with an open venue. Food and drinks were delicious, the beds were comfortable. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been cooler.

La peor experiencia, ya no es lo que era, gente en camiseta en la alberca, gente comiendo chicharrones de Oxxo en el restaurante, de muy mal gusto, las instalaciones siguen bellas,, pero el servicio también pésimo, si buscan la Hacienda que era, o un lugar para descansar y que tengan los mejores servicios exclusivos, como lo eran, mejor visiten otra, como Hacienda México, Hacienda Acamilpa, sus instalaciones están totalmente desperdiciadas en un Balneario de Oaxtepec, sin hacer menos a nada, solo no es lo que estaba buscando o lo que conocía del hotel, La mejor habitación se solicitó, y preferí retirarme, regrese a mi casa, para aguantar gente que ni estaba hospedada, y que por comer les dan espacio en la alberca, aunque el gerente lo niegue, lo primero que me pregunto el mesero fue, "tiene habitación o viene con el grupo", de verdad pésima experiencia.

Instalaciones muy bonitas y limpias. A nosotros nos tocó poca gente y se puede disfrutar con más comodidad. El paseo en caballo por dentro de la hacienda vale la pena, también el spa es muy bueno. La comida bien aunque no extraordinaria. La alberca riquísima, a la temperatura ideal. Muy buen lugar para una escapada de fin de semana

Supe de esta hacienda por un amigo y decidí ir con mi mamá a descansar unos días, quedamos impresionadas por la belleza del lugar, el mobiliario antiguo, la comida pero principalmente por la amable atención recibida. Sin duda regresaremos.
