"We had planned for almost a year to come to Bahia Vik in Jose Ignacio to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th Birthday. Our stay more than exceeded our expectations. It is a gorgeous setting, with a large dining room/lounge with huge windows that look out on the ocean. Each room is named for the artist whose work decorates that room, which makes the experience feel intimate and unique and not a standardized hotel experience. The hotel is small, and the staff made all 9 of us feel. We were cared for individually, recognizing us whenever we walked by the front desk and continually checking on us, giving advice, or helping us with plans. A couple of employees went above and beyond to help us. Zahira worked tirelessly to ensure we had dinner reservations, activities, and tours. When I had a concern about not being able to get into a crowded yoga class, she made sure to check into the situation and follow up with me so that I was able to enjoy myself. Most importantly, however, Lucia was the hero of our trip. We had a challenging situation involving one of our young adult children who got lost in another town, and she stayed up all night with us, translating Spanish and advising us on how to proceed. She stayed working hours after she needed to and displayed such incredible concern, consideration, and care that we felt we were in excellent hands. We can't wait to return to this beautiful country with lovely people, delicious food, wine, and an exceptional setting."

"What a wonderful time we had at Estancia ViK - a top destination, led by the welcoming and fabulous Coco and her team, who make each day special! Great professionals, who go above and beyond for guests - thank you Franco, Sol, Ludmila…. What can we say other than it was a TRULY GREAT experience. The setting of the sweeping plains, awash with horses, is etched on our memories forever! The food, led by the dynamic team of chefs is also first- class. We had the best time! Five star and beyond. Welcoming, relaxing and top experience."

"I have very mixed feelings about this place. The good : Great location, Futuristic design of hotel with attention to detail in furniture etc Spacious suites with floor to ceiling windows, Right on the beach, Infinity pool with exceptional sunsets over it, Staff members work hard and try to meet your needs. The bad: Limited staff means important areas like reception are often left unattended. There is refurbishment works as soon as you walk in so access to main building is tricker and also it’s not aesthetically pleasing to constantly see the construction. In our 1,000$ a night suite, the aircon didn’t work and the heating couldn’t be switched off so it got to the point that we were sweating in a 28 degree room and had to stay in the room with the front door open to let air in. The second night our blackout blinds were disabled by the staff without anyone informing us. They tried to get them to work but unsuccessfully and I asked how we are meant to sleep without them and the reply was « oh it’s ok, the sun doesn’t come up until 8am ». I thought that was a strange reply so I looked and the sunrise time was just before 6. And even if it WERE two hours later, for guests who are paying 1,000 a night, there should be no excuse for not being able to close the blinds. In the end, they found a room next door (with working blinds and a working aircon) which we moved into for the last night. The gym has very old rusty equipment which needs changing asap. Details in the rooms and hotel itself need some TLC- scuffing/ peeling paint/ dirty windows… just general neglect. Food was not great. Especially breakfast which only had toasted bread at the « buffet » and the only thing you can request from the kitchen is eggs. For the price you are paying, a full menu would be nice. Also « cacio and Pepe pasta » is NOT plain pasta with a side of parmesan… Overall, the hotel is gorgeous and location is stunning but I really wish the owners/ management would be more present to make it feel less neglected. I’ve put photos of both the good and the bad."

"Excellent location and surroundings. The staff was very friendly, always attentive to every need. The breakfast was varied (I requested almond milk when booking), and they were attentive to that request. Seasonal fruit was served."

Estancia Vik José Ignacio ★★★★★
"We did not stay at the hotel, however we did go to both horseride in a group of friends and have the BBQ dinner on separate days. Both were tourist traps: 1) horse ride: we got saddled up and just walked around the (beautiful) property with no explanation, no history no what was going on etc. Language is not an issue, its just there is no excited, no love of the job at hand. 2) the BBQ dinner was awful, the meat was not good at all (we ate well elsewhere over the 10 days we were in Jose Ignacio ), the service was laughable - they were understaffed and some of the team had no idea of what they were doing and could not explain anything on the Vik wines we were drinking. The 2 vegetarians (announced when we reserved) got 2 different salads! no cheese nothing.... Stick to drinks at sunset - and you will be a happy camper! Mr Vik, in the unlikely case you are reading this - your management needs to do a lot better or your brand is going to be tainted"

"Excellent service and attention. We had a problem with the house where we were staying, so we had to book two nights in a smaller room. It's very well laid out; we are two adults and a baby, and they provided a crib for him. My only suggestion would be to install a baseboard or small barrier between the shower stall and the rest of the bathroom, because it floods otherwise. With a baseboard of about 3 cm, I think it would withstand the overflow. I understand this happens in several rooms because I heard another guest mention it."

Playa Vik Jose Ignacio ★★★★
"Playa Vik Jose Ignacio is one of the most amazing hotel experiences. The location is a stunning ocean view. The rooms, staff, restaturant and pool are impecible. Privacy, charm, beauty, it has it all! The surrounding beach town has trendy restautrants and beautiful modern architecture beach homes - great for a walk in the sun. Very special thanks to the staff: Facundo Maia Maciel Max Alejandro Luciana Tomas Augustina and, Francisco (at Estancia horse ride host)"
