Our stay at this Maoshan mountain-top hotel was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The hospitality began well before we arrived. The host (proprietor) reached out directly to our UK phone number to invite us to a WeChat group. Through this, they seamlessly provided all the essential travel information, details on local attractions, transport schedules, and dining times. They even kept in touch during our transit to ensure we made it up the mountain safely and smoothly. Upon arrival, we were immediately made to feel welcome. The staff showed us a few available rooms and generously offered us a complimentary upgrade to a superior room. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and featured an absolutely spectacular viewpoint overlooking the mountain landscape. Shortly after, we were invited to the reception area to enjoy traditional Chinese tea and chat with the host and other guests, creating a warm, community-like atmosphere. The food and the evening activities were spectacular. For a very reasonable extra fee, we enjoyed delicious, authentic local-style dinners that were more than enough to fill us up. After dinner, we watched a stunning sunset followed by a personalized night tour of the surrounding grounds. The host introduced us to the basics of Daoist philosophy and the history of the local temple courtyards. We even encountered quite a bit of local wildlife and insects, which were completely non-threatening and added a wonderful, natural charm to the mountain night. Before bed, we had the special opportunity to light traditional long-stick incense and offer prayers for our family in the Daoist tradition. The next morning, the host arranged an incredible early session with a Tai Chi master. We were tutored in *Ba Duan Jin* (a traditional Chinese QiGong style of exercise) outdoors in the fresh mountain air. It was amazing to watch the master perform, ask questions, and receive hands-on guidance. We spent the rest of our day exploring local temples and attractions. We even received a remarkably accurate fortune-telling reading before lighting more incense and offering prayers. While a few specific spots like the cave were closed, the walks were stunning, just remember to bring water and stay cool under the hot sun! What truly sets this hotel apart is how the staff goes above and beyond. The host helped us connect with a Daoist master to write a beautiful, custom talisman for our family. We were able to meet the master, receive a blessing, and collect the talisman on our way down. Furthermore, when Typhoon Bavi unexpectedly forced the park to close the following day, the host personally stepped in to help us safely navigate from the summit back down to the mountain base. We are incredibly grateful for their unmatched care and would not hesitate to return to this magical place!

Upgraded to a 180-degree golden nanmu room for an extra charge, and the view was absolutely stunning – definitely worth it!

We initially thought it was just a place on a mountaintop, so we weren't expecting much. However, this was far too casual. Upon check-in, they asked if we wanted to upgrade for an extra fee, which surprised us, but we stayed in the double room we had booked. Despite the guesthouse not being fully booked (in fact, only a few rooms were occupied), they directly assigned us a room right opposite the public toilet, and there was a terrible smell as soon as we opened the door. Facilities: At nearly 700 yuan, it wasn't cheap, but the room facilities were very outdated, probably worse than even a budget guesthouse down the mountain. There were no floor mats, the walls were dirty, and the bed made our backs hurt. Cleanliness: We found a huge centipede while washing up at night—unbelievable! Service: It felt like a place that was just trying to make a quick buck; they didn't seem to care about running the guesthouse properly. It's a real shame given its location.

I have come to Maoshan Blessed Land to pray and burn incense many times. This is the first time I stayed at Dinggong Sun Viewing Cliff B&B. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. Although the hardware facilities in the room cannot be compared with four- or five-star hotels🆚, the environment in the public places is very artistic, and the geographical location here is excellent👍. You can enjoy the beautiful sunrise🌅sunset🌅 scenery👍👍You can also burn the first incense to pray🙏 The owner of the B&B is very nice and enthusiastic ❤️. He is always responsive 👍. Although the dinner set menu is a bit expensive, it tastes good 😋. Such an environment and such taste are worth it 👍. The breakfast buffet 🍜 and ☕️ are both good. Thank you for the amulet sent by the owner. I will choose this place next time 😄

If you are planning to drive, you can park at the foot of the mountain. Parking is safe and free. Find the station to register your ID card for 50 yuan per person and take the shuttle bus to the top of the mountain. Arrive before 6pm to see the sunset, have dinner, drink tea in the evening, and watch the moon and stars. Get up at six in the morning to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds on the top of the mountain. The main hall opens at 8 o'clock and people light incense and worship the gods. It’s a rare opportunity to spend the night in the fairy-like Dinggong B&B!

The environment of the top palace is very good, people are like fairies on the mountain. Master Yi is warm and hospitable, and the staff inside are also very serious. You can dine on site for an additional fee, which is very convenient. Get up in the morning and watch the sunrise. The sun slowly rises from the ground in the east. It is a beauty that cannot be expressed in words.

I encountered a female Taoist priest who was argumentative, mocking tourists from out of town. The shuttle bus driver also argued with tourists. The guesthouse was so-so, but its advantage was its unique location within a Taoist temple. I saw about 1-2 staff members per day.

The hygiene and facilities are terrible, the room is drafty and there's noise at night. It's in a great location, but they're just ripping off passing travelers.
