The most amazing Lapland break for ourselves and our 2 daughters (7 and 9). It was everything we could have wished for and more. The Davvi Arctic Lodge is set in the most gorgeous, natural surroundings, away from the commercialised, tourist areas. It is rustic, traditional, cosy and homely. The rooms are basic, but comfy and lovely and warm after a day in the snow. The food was plentiful and hearty and we all managed to find things to eat each day, which with a pickup eater was amazing! The location, being close to Sweden was great, as we had a walk over and loved being in two countries at the same time!! The package with Transun was also amazing, and both my girls came back even truer believers of Santa than when they went! If we could, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Had the best stay in the Davvi Arctic Lodge with a group of friends. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is clean, functional and comfortable albeit too hot. The food is ok, basic but plenty of choice for all meals. We did the Snow Mobile trip at night which was magical and the Northern Lights made a spectacular appearance. The Reindeer camp visit was very relaxing and serene and the Huskie Sledding was a real adrenaline rush and great fun. All trips were well organised with informative, friendly and helpful guides. We walked to Sweden which was a bonus and did some walks and sledging around the Hotel grounds in the snow. Would have been helpful to have some little maps showing where the walking trails were. Overall, we had a brilliant time and I couldn't recommend it enough.

We’d booked a 3 night break through Transun, it was so well organised and we’d highly recommend them. In terms of Davvi Arctic Lodge we had an Aurora Deluxe room which was fabulous and only a few meters from the main hotel. It was clean, well maintained, heating was easy to control and there was hot water on tap in a wonderful bathroom. Food was better than we’d expected and plentiful. The setting is superb and apart from the organised activities we enjoyed many walks through the forest. It was a bonus to see the Northern Lights 2 nights out of 3! Overall we had an exceptional few days and would highly recommend it!

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to DAL. The organisation from pick up at the airport ti drop off was fabulous. Your itinerary and pick up times for all excursions and meal times is in reception from arrival so that you can plan your free time or even purchase more activities. Every single member of staff were helpful and friendly and it made it feel like a family. The communal areas were cosy and warm for relaxing. We had a room in the main hotel which was convenient as I even popped to breakfast in my slippers 😀 the bed was comfy and the shower was great. The outlook from the large window was very pretty. The food was hearty and evening meals included over the 4 nights, a daily soup choice + day 1 beef stew, 2. chicken curry, 3.roast chicken breast and 4.salmon and a vegan choice daily some kind of potato and veg. We enjoyed each evening meal. The breakfast was fine and included... Juice, Cornflakes, porridge, rice crisps, yoghurt, toast n jams, pancakes, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, crispy bacon and beans. We would highly recommend the Northern Lights tour, Davvi Artic Lodge and Transun, and return in the future. We are so pleased we booked this. *Pint larger is 9euro and small glass wine 11euro or a bottle 35euro.....so if you like a drink you could bring some like we did. Soft drinks 3euro. *Recommendation: would have loved to see a microwave so I could have heated my food, as I like it hot (herd a few conversations about this) Also to provide tea & coffee after all meals not just breakfast. Only a small thing that would make it excellent for me.

The accommodation was warm and extremely comfortable. The warmth of the hotel was matched by the warmth and helpfulness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Many holidays come and go but DAL has left a lasting impression. THANK YOU to all the staff xx

We have just returned from a brilliant 4 day break at this hotel The staff are lovely and very helpful We really enjoyed the food but would have liked the hot drinks facilities to still be an option during the day and not just at breakfast We stayed in the hotel and although the room was basic it was warm and clean The bathroom was nice but the shower flooded the whole room no matter what you did Which turned it into a paddling pool that never dried And the kettle had to be on the floor as the lead wasn’t long enough to use it on the table We wanted to do the ice hotel excursion but trying to move everything round to fit it in was a nightmare So I would advise booking these in advance if possible I would highly recommend a visit to the ice hotel while you’re there It was a full on 4 days early mornings, late nights and full time keeping a check on the board to see where you are that day and what time you’re eating But we would do it all again tomorrow We loved it and would highly recommend this lovely place and all it has to offer

Remote location and the hotel has thought of everything. It is not a five star hotel in the normal sense of the word but because it is in the middle of nowhere it deserves five stars. The food was great. The rooms were warm. The setting was stunning with all the snow. Fab toboggan area with free sledges to use. Boots and suits available on site and you can walk to this. Downhill to the shops and the bridge to Sweden - worth the walk. All staff really friendly.

We visited 19 January 2025 for four nights on a “Northern Lights” tour. My TA review rating is based on the hotel alone. But I’ve included other info about the rest of the trip that I hope helps others. HOTEL Davvi Artic Lodge is about 45 mins from the airport. The hotel is basic but warm and clean. We had the Aurora Deluxe room which was fairly big, it had an electric fire and heating was also provided by the heat pump, so it was plenty warm all of the time. The bed was large and comfy. The room also had a wardrobe (I only mention this as some rooms do not), a small coffee table, kettle and one arm chair. The bathroom was very nice with a freestanding bath, walk in shower & sauna. We used the sauna to dry our hats & gloves a few times! There’s also a large boot room where you can hang up your supplied suits and boots, this area is shared with another room. The food at the hotel is basic, but nice enough, one let down was the food was never warm enough. Drinks were €19 for two local beers & €22 for two small red wines, so a little expensive. We did bring a couple of boxes of red wine for our room which was nice to enjoy after being out on excursions. All the staff at the hotel are super friendly and informative. Everything was super well organised and ran like clockwork. Your daily itinerary is pinned on a board in the reception area, it lets you know what time your meals and excursions are. You need to keep checking this as things can get changed around. EXCURSIONS The excursions that were included in our “Northern Lights” tour were all excellent. I especially enjoyed the Husky safari, and wish I’d done and optional extra husky tour. The reindeer safari was awesome too, as was the snowmobile adventure. The snowshoe walking was more enjoyable than I expected! But the forest trek was a bit lame, you won’t miss much if you skip that. In most cases you’re away from the hotel for about 2 hours for each excursion (forest trek is 1 hour) so you have plenty of time to do your own thing or just chill out when you’re not on an excursion. LOCAL AREA We saw the northern lights on three nights out of four. We are so grateful to see them!! The temperature in mid-January ranged between -11°c & -35°c. There’s not much going on outside the hotel. At the bottom of the hill is a cafe and gift store. You can walk over the border to Sweden, there’s a couple of photo opportunities at the border and Sweden’s most northerly church. If you walk further along there’s a grill called Tanate Kitchen… do yourself a favour and avoid, it’s basically a truck stop canteen. AIRPORT Enontekio is a very small airport. On arrival you go through customs and then sit/stand for maybe a half hour in a waiting area until your bags are delivered. You have to go fetch your cases from the trolleys. We waited until last so we could easily find our cases and it meant we didn’t have to sit on the bus for too long waiting for others. At departure there’s a couple of check-in desks a
