Close to ferry for Sakurajima, everything was clean and in good condition. The long term residents in the dorm was a bit strange, but other than that very value for money. Only two showers and two toilets, so had to queue for bathrooms quite a lot.

Nice kitchen. Also washing machine and dryer..
Have to take a bus from Kagoshimachuo station and then walk 10 mins to the hostel. However, it's 10 mind walk to the main shopping area and restaurants.

Check-out was at 12 o'clock, so I was able to relax. Thank you.
It was close to Tenmonkan, so it was very safe and convenient to go drinking and eating. Next time, I'd like to shop at Donki and use the kitchen.

It was cheap, but the facilities were old.
It's far from the station, but you can take a bus or tram.
It's a bit remote.

It was quiet because it was near the sea of Kagoshima, and the rooftop was also pretty. If I go to Kagoshima again, I want to go there again.
I was really scared by my first interaction with the hostel owner. If my stay hadn't already been paid for, I would have left. I had just arrived in Japan and hadn't yet figured out where to take off my shoes. So I took off my street shoes when I entered and put on the slippers that were there. I didn't understand why he started yelling at me when I took two steps in them to put down my suitcase. He yelled for a long time, shook his head, waved his arms, and rolled on the floor. It turns out you were supposed to walk barefoot there. I apologized, said I wasn't sure where the flip-flops were and where they were without them, and that he should stop yelling. But he kept yelling. Then he demanded that I stop smiling. Later I heard similar stories from other guests. This was the only incident in the entire four weeks I spent in Japan. It's a pity, I really fell in love with the Japanese and their mentality.

Obligatory "did not actually stay here," but I believe my experience can still be useful for those wanting to know what they can expect if they should choose to try and book this place. TAKEAWAY #1: You must get be able to make it there before 10 PM, or else you must take the initiative to contact them the day of to tell them that you will be coming in later. I booked this place via Hostelworld, put down that I would be getting in around 11 PM or a little earlier since my flight didn't arrive to the nearest (only?) airport until 9:30-ish. My understanding when booking the place was that I would be fine so long as I made it there before midnight, but there was no formal indication anywhere on the website as to what was the latest time I could be there to check in. I finally arrive at 10:20 PM and found that, not only was it was all locked up, but my reservation was already canceled. If I had known that I needed to still contact them the day of, regardless of the information I put down in my reservation, I would have done so when I arrived at the airport, which could have saved me so much of this trouble I had. TAKEAWAY #2: You must pay any remaining portion of your unpaid booking fee in cash. Yes, you should carry cash just in case wherever you go in Japan because you might not be able to use any other payment method. However, I have actually found that, at least at the time of writing this in April of 2024, the number of places which don't accept major international credit cards are very few, especially so for hostels and hotels. Given that I encountered some troubles getting some of the cash I was supposed to have during my travels, I would have had to rely on credit card for any outstanding fees that needed to still be paid for my stay here. This, at least, *was* listed on the Hostelworld site, but could be easily missed by not hitting the [More...] button to read the hostel's full About section. Keep in mind that, if you were looking to get the cash necessary for the hostel at the nearby airport by exchanging currencies, they are not 24/7, and when I got there, they were all closed. TAKEAWAY #3: There are nice hotels very close by on the main road north of this place.

Terrible experience here. Staff were incredibly rude, and almost never at the desk. Rooms were way too small (smaller than pretty much every other spot I've been to in Japan) and the entire place smelled really awful the entire time I was there. Would highly recommend avoiding this spot.
