Uncle Billy’s is CLOSED and under restoration. It is not planned to be reopen until summer. It was purchased by Hampton Inn according to local chamber of commerce. Check with them for updated construction schedule or Hampton inn’s website. TripAdvisor needs to update this listing.

This hotel is in decay, it is a low tier, and still expensive, though rather affordable for Kona, I wouldn't recommend it for tourists. Expect a 1.5 or 2.0-star experience. Expect people to be living in the rooms. Expect to see the real bad side of Kona, Crystal Meth, even though they have to fight it, and they are. So the police are there at least 4 times a week. To their credit, Uncle Billys is remodeling and cleaning up this hotel.
