The food is exquisite. The best Ryokan breakfast and dinner we've had. The dining setting stunning, which is facing the Noh Theatre! Should time our next visit when there is a performance. Even without a performance this time, tasting the duck broth, while watching the fish grill against a snowing background is still very enjoyable. Feel so grateful throughout the meals.
The quality of onsen is excellent, with hot, cold and semi-outdoor bath options. Our room also has private toilet and bath, which is very convenient.
This historic place is filled with tasteful artworks and artefacts, giving delightful surprise at every corner. There are also many cozy and lovely spaces for individual, couple or small group enjoyment. The only regret is we stayed for one night only this time, which is really not enough. Next time, will surely stay longer.
