The Square Hotel Kanazawa Reviews

The hotel is clean and tidy, and there's a hot spring bath on the top floor. It's located near Omicho Market. I booked early and got a triple room for less than 300 per night, which was excellent value for money. I was very satisfied with my 4-night stay.

This is the second time for our families to stay at The Square Hotel Kanazawa. The room is spacious to accomodate 4 people. The location is great, walking distance to major tourist attractions e.g. The Kanazawa Castle, Omichio Market, Kenrokuen Garden etc... The hotel also has a public bath ( both indoor and outdoor bath) that we enjoyed very much.

Next to omicho market, two bus stop to Kanazawa station, Kanazawa castle behind the hotel, everywhere within walking distance.

Everything was excellent and value for the money. From the front desk itself (offers luggage storage when you are early, and free bike rental), Husband and I really maximized their public onsen which is very clean and contains essentials for after wash care, by the way you can see the crowd count for the onsen and cafeteria in their TV. One thing that we didn't like is the block out curtains that is not fully blocking the sunlight.

Like the fact is located very near the market and everywhere is walkable. Don’t like the parking as they charge Yen1300 per entry up to 24 hours. Meaning once you park, you want to drive your car, u need to pay another Yen1300 again

Breakfast is good enough, the door is not too sound proofing I could easily hear the noise outside.

We had a mixed experience at this hotel in Kanazawa. The location is definitely a plus — Omicho Market is just around the corner, and it’s about a 15-minute walk to the railway station, which made getting around relatively easy. However, the room left a lot to be desired. It didn’t feel well maintained or properly cleaned. The in-room tablet didn’t work at all, and some parts of the air conditioning unit were open, exposing dirty interior components — not something you’d expect in a Japanese hotel. The onsen was a nice feature, but often too crowded. There were three washing machines available for guests, but they were constantly in use, even late at night or early in the morning, which made doing laundry very difficult. Staff were okay, but not particularly warm or polite by Japanese standards. Overall, it was a passable stay, but we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

The room is much more spacious than those in major cities like Tokyo and Osaka. The hotel is within walking distance of Kanazawa’s top attractions: 1. Omicho Market 2. Kanazawa Castle 3. Entertainment District 4. Kenrokuen Garden 5. Kanazawa Station Highly recommended!

Due to bad weather i was unable to come to Kanezawa....cancel 2days in advance however the hotel still charge no show

The location is ideal. Within walking distance to tourist attractions. Staff is polite and helpful

The room was quite spacious and clean, and the service was very welcoming. The DHC toiletries provided on the first floor were excellent. Just remember to pick up your toothbrush, toothpaste, facial cleanser, and lotion on the first floor after checking in, as they are not available in the room itself.

The hotel was kind of in the middle of the city (kind of far away from the station but close to some of the attractions/points of interest). The restaurants etc near the place close pretty early so you might want to get some dinner to go from the station or walk all the way to the station. It was a good deal though, they have a public bath and a gym, pretty nice facilities and rooms too. Would def stay here again ✨
