From the moment we arrived by seaplane, we were greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing coconut – setting the tone for a perfect escape. The island itself is stunning: powdery white beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush vegetation everywhere. The resort blends beautifully into its natural surroundings, offering a peaceful, authentic Maldivian experience with the unmistakable Six Senses touch. Our beach villa was spacious, stylish, and incredibly comfortable, with direct beach access and a private pool. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, combining luxury with a natural, organic feel. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and walking barefoot to breakfast was an everyday highlight. The service was flawless. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel special – always kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Our GEM (Guest Experience Maker) took care of everything with care and a personal touch, making us feel right at home. Dining at the resort was a true culinary journey. From fresh seafood to international dishes with local flavors, every meal was a treat. The sunset dinners by the beach and the chef’s table experience were especially memorable. We also loved the spa and wellness offerings – deeply relaxing massages, yoga sessions by the ocean, and even personalized wellness consultations. The resort’s focus on sustainability and well-being is truly inspiring and adds real value to the stay. Six Senses Kanuhura offers the perfect combination of barefoot luxury, warm hospitality, and untouched nature. We left feeling completely refreshed and grateful for the experience – and we can’t wait to return!

My daughter @libby4liberty and I were welcomed to @sixsenseskanuhura by JB, our Gem Rajeev, Adam, and Vel. Unfortunately I arrived very sick. The medical team made a room call then Libby and Rajeev took good care of me. Vel assisted my sick self in getting breakfast our first day. I didn’t get to snorkel on this trip, but I was able to enjoy the friendly staff: Suga and Ishani were over the top nice. The resort itself is beautiful and qualifies as a truly barefoot resort. The food is excellent. The Spanish restaurant named “The Point” actually has a Spanish chef from the Seville area. Don’t miss the salmon sushi, angus beef, polleto, churros, cheesecake, and of course coconut sorbet. My daughter loved the diving and snorkeling. The island itself is a turtle sanctuary and research area. The night before we arrived turtles hatched. This place is truly a delight to the “six” senses. We have visited many resorts in the Maldives, even the best ones, but we rate SIX SENSES KANUHURA the highest. This is a hotel that fulfills holiday dreams even for the most demanding guests. A beautiful adventure and a break from the everyday world begins in Male, where SIX SENSES has its large and comfortable room. Waiting for the waterplane is very pleasant. The welcome on Kanuhura island is ceremonial, accompanied by live music, during which we meet the most important people and a dedicated host who will take care of us during our stay. A great moment is the obligatory removal of shoes and putting them in special bags. We put our shoes on only after our stay on Kanuhura is over. There are 4 excellent restaurants on Kanuhura - it is difficult to say which is the best, because each of them offers a different cuisine, and the dishes are very tasty and of excellent quality. During your stay, you use all the restaurants alternately, and additionally, culinary theme evenings, a barbecue on the beach and a cocktail party with the management are organized. All dishes are served perfectly by very committed and professional waiters. During the day, delicious ice cream, cakes and coffee are served. Kanuhura Island is beautifully situated, in the distance you can see other islands. Around Kanuhura there is a beautiful ocean in all shades of blue and azure and a nice, well-kept beach. The villas are nice, well-equipped, and the surroundings are beautifully arranged with greenery. We really appreciated the cleaning service, which made every effort to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Right next to Kanuhura is the uninhabited small island of Jenuhura, where you can have lunch at no extra charge and organize a private dinner under the stars and a movie screening on the big screen - then on the island there are only us, the waiter and the cook. These are unique, priceless moments that you remember for the rest of your life. A huge number of colorful fish, small sharks, rays swim around the island, crabs walk on the beach, and sometimes beautiful glowing plankton appears. Kanuhura has its own HAUSE REEF - it is really big and exceptionally well-preserved. Diving is an amazing experience, if you are not a diver, of course. DIVING CENTER deserves special mention, which offers the highest quality and professionalism. Aan, together with Elisa and Rob, do a really good job not only because of their knowledge of all the local nooks of the ocean and diving techniques, but also because of the great atmosphere that they can create together. Diving with such a team becomes not only an underwater adventure, but also deeply relaxing. Here you do not have to worry about where you will dive, if you have all the equipment with you, what the conditions are like in the water - the Dive CENTER team remembers all of this. A Slice of Paradise at Six Senses Kanuhura We spent 6 unforgettable nights at Six Senses Kanuhura, 3 in a beach villa and 3 in a water villa and both were absolutely incredible. The villas are stunningly designed, blending natural beauty with luxurious comfort, and waking up to the sound of the ocean was pure magic. The food and service were next level. Every meal felt special, and the staff's attention to detail was exceptional especially how the waiters remembered our drink orders, which made us feel genuinely cared for. A special shout-out to our GEM (Guest Experience Maker), Rajjee, who went above and beyond. From seamless arrangements to even picking us up for dinner during a storm, he was an absolute legend. One small piece of feedback: we'd love to see more variety in the à la carte menus especially salads. On buffet nights, the salads were phenomenal, and it would be wonderful to have those creative, fresh options available daily. The resort offers a range of daily activities, some complimentary and some paid, which added an extra layer of fun and discovery. We adored the barefoot luxury vibe and cruising around the island on bicycles it truly enhanced the feeling of freedom and connection to nature. Six Senses Kanuhura was the perfect mix of relaxation, indulgence, and adventure. Overall Ludicrously beautiful place with excellent service, stylish details and fun activities. A luxurious spot to unwind, get some sun and do some diving. Beautiful clean beaches. Incredibly clear water. Villa We stayed in Villa 23, a deluxe beach villa with pool on the west side of the island, right next to the wider beach which is incredibly beautiful, on the side where the jetties are - and the seaplanes (about 5 a day come in and out). It also meant we got the sunsets. I would say that the other (east) side is wilder but we found our side to be v convenient. The villa itself was lovely. Loads of room. A large double bathroom with a bath and 2 showers. A sofa, rocking chair and a very large super king bed. A hallway. A walk in dressing room. Modern Californian style. Quiet. Air con. Regularly and discretely cleaned. Water replenished. The pool is for looks really. It’s 90cm deep so a plunge at best. Good with small kids I suppose. I hear the retreats are particularly nice. Service The service was excellent. Never imposing or annoying. Just friendly, efficient and quick to turn things around. We didn’t make much use of our GEM (Guest Experience Manager) - we’re quite low maintenance and can work things out ourselves usually - but she was there whenever we needed her and sorted stuff out very quickly. The team at Six Senses Kanuhura seems happy to be there. I got the sense they enjoy their jobs. Many have been there for many years, some since well before Six Senses became the operator. The senior team were very present and seemed to be running things extremely well. We sensed a very positive culture. Six Senses On top of the excellent service, our feeling was that Six Senses is particularly thoughtful about sensory things - how to create an atmosphere - and this suits us well. The music was cool and always the right vibe (Thievery Corporation, Bob Marley, Jamie Cullum). The lighting was beautifully atmospheric. They lit a fire on the beach. The buildings have nice details, materials and textures. If you’re the sort that lights a candle to create an atmosphere at home, they could be the hotel brand for you. Wellness There is a gentle emphasis on wellness here. An Apple cider vinegar shot (called rocket fuel) is offered at breakfast. We took our medicine every day with a water chaser. The spa has excellent (single sex) sauna, steam, hot and cold plunges as well as very good massage. It’s quite expensive ($200+) but arguably worth it if you’re here to recover from a busy life. We also took a yoga class - which was great. It was led by an Indian teacher with a quite disciplined approach. Teachers from that part of the world often have this - counting breaths, going straight into a strong representation of a pose. He was very good, but I tend to prefer to adapt and find what feels good. In any case it got the day off to a bracing start. It was $45 for a 60 minute class and I did wonder if this should be included. In general
