Kaohsiung Hù House

The room was very comfortable, and the shower facilities were great. I saw some comments about poor sound insulation at the main entrance, but I thought it was okay. The only thing was that there was a group of really noisy kids screaming outside the door at night – super loud! Overall, the stay was still very good, and the front desk staff was very friendly.

As the reviews mentioned, the hotel is quite old. Even the deluxe rooms clearly show that they've just been simply renovated with wallpaper. The air conditioning system and plumbing in the rooms are still old-fashioned (the temperature was set to 25 degrees, and the room felt a bit humid and stuffy, with low water pressure). Breakfast is served until 10 AM, and there are many options, but some items weren't refilled early on.

1. The room feels like an afterthought; the window opens onto what looks like an air shaft or internal courtyard. 2. The decor is really old-fashioned, the door is dilapidated, and there's absolutely no soundproofing. 3. The bathroom plumbing isn't soundproofed at all. The sound of flushing toilets from upstairs is loud enough to wake you from a deep sleep. 4. The bathroom fixtures are ancient. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The hotel's location is superb; it's within walking distance of Formosa Boulevard MRT Station and Liuhe Night Market, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and finding food. The rooms are clean and elegant, the bedding is comfortable, and the bathroom has stable water pressure. The staff are warm and attentive, and there are complimentary snacks and drinks in the common areas. The breakfast offers a rich variety of both Western and Chinese options. Overall, it's great value for money.
