Riverside Hotel Karatsu Castle Reviews

Lovely little hotel near Karatsu Castle. The room was small but came with a balcony and private bathroom. Welcome drinks were provided during check-in which was a nice touch. Free laundry on site too. The receptionists were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We were given a room on ground and unfortunately the kids staying on first level were making quite a lot of noise at night. My partner spoke to the receptionist working the night shift and he immediately went upstairs to handle the situation. Thanks to him and the understanding family as well, the noise stopped shortly after.

The view from the room was amazing, and the room itself was very clean. We received a welcome beer and could also enjoy coffee, so I'd say the service was excellent. The only amenity provided was a toothbrush; it would have been nice to have a small mirror for makeup.

The river-view room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the castle tower. A complimentary drink was provided upon check-in, along with yukata (light cotton robes) for guests to enjoy after showering in the common area. The common area had a huge ice cream cabinet! It's quite close to Kyomachi shopping street, Karatsu Castle, and the beach, but a bit far from Nijinomiyahara, Hamasaki Baths, and Kagamiyama Onsen. Ladies planning to visit these ice cream hotspots should take note! Oh, and the local specialty, Yoruko squid, is absolutely delicious!

Facilities: The facilities are complete and clean. The soundproofing is only so-so. Hygiene: Clean and hygienic, no issues. Environment: Located by the sea, the view and environment are very nice. Service: The service is warm and attentive.

We were upgraded to a room with a view of Karatsu Castle from the window. The staff were very helpful and checked public transport information for us. Nijinomiyahara in Karatsu Bay is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The Japanese-style rooms aren't ideal for older people; you have to change shoes before entering the hotel and there's a seating arrangement in the room. The view is absolutely stunning; you can enjoy views of Karatsu Castle from the room, especially the beautiful night view. The service is also very good; they can communicate in English.

I was worried about checking in because I arrived at 12 noon, but I was pleasantly surprised. The guesthouse owner was very friendly and welcoming, showing me around and explaining things. I was satisfied with the room, and the guesthouse was in a great location.

Absolutely perfect! The scenery was beautiful, and you could even see Karatsu Castle. Guests were given a welcome drink upon check-in, but I didn't redeem it because I had an upset stomach later. The service was excellent, and the bathroom was new! 👍

Facing the sea, it's convenient to go anywhere. You can walk to Karatsu Castle, Seaside Pine Field, and the showerheads of Yuri and Makachin. It's a recommended accommodation for the Yuri pilgrimage route.

The room wasn't small for Japan, and it was very clean. The front desk staff were especially welcoming and patiently introduced various local things. I must mention that the grilled fish for breakfast was particularly fresh and delicious. I stayed for two nights and had breakfast twice, and the dishes were different each time. I would definitely go back for more.

The hotel is easy to find, has free parking across the street, the rooms have beautiful views, and each guest receives a welcome drink. It's also close to the castle.
