Staying at The Lalit for the first time was a fantastic experience. From check-in to check-out, everything was flawless. Despite navigating a personal issue upon arrival, the cheerful staff, particularly Ms. Nishmita and Barar, ensured my comfort. I can’t thank them enough for their wonderful gesture. There were many aspects that made our stay enjoyable. The property spans 28 acres with 38 rooms, including a villa, offering ample space to enjoy Kerala’s natural beauty. It provides access to the backwaters of River Nombili and Bekal Beach, with the Arabian Sea just 500 meters away. The resort has private beach access and buggies that run frequently, making it easy to get around. Outdoor activities include free fishing, 15 minutes of free kayaking, chargeable bamboo rafting, table tennis, a children’s play area, and badminton. Indoor activities for kids and adults include snooker, carrom, chess, coloring and drawing, and a library. Guests can also feed the fish and turtles in the pond near the reception. The Spiceology Spa is unique, and they offered a complimentary evening yoga session. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with fresh coconut water harvested from the property. The resort has a small kitchen garden with ladyfinger, capsicum, chilies, pineapple, banana, and more. Our room, number 112, was the highest category room with a lagoon view, conveniently located near all amenities. It featured a Jacuzzi, though it took nearly an hour to fill with water at normal temperature. The swimming pool was also good, with depths of 4 feet and 3.3 feet. They serve Hi-Tea in the evening between 5-6:30 pm, and the buffet spread was exceptionally good. Although there is only one restaurant, it is sufficient for the 38 rooms. I loved their traditional, authentic Kerala food, including puttu, kadale, fish and chicken curry, sambhar, dosas, and plenty of vegetarian options. The highlight was the appam, which reminded me of Sri Lanka. The resort offers a variety of wine-based cocktails, and I fell in love with the “Golden Elixir,” a spicy white wine cocktail that rivals any 5-star bar menu. We also celebrated Republic Day during our stay, joining in for the flag hoisting, which was a memorable experience. Both my daughters, aged 10 and 3, were delighted with the new experiences, such as fishing, fish and turtle feeding, and enjoying the restaurant food. One area for improvement is their Aum shop, which I found to be quite disappointing. I was hoping to buy souvenirs or mementos from the trip, but the shop was almost empty and felt like a wasted opportunity. As someone who collects souvenirs from every place I visit to keep memories alive, this was a letdown. Review: Stayed from 4th to 6th April at The LaLiT Resort & Spa Bekal — and honestly, it left a lot to be desired for a property marketed as 5-star. Check-In: Smooth experience with a warm welcome — coconut water and garland on arrival. No complaints here. Property & Location: The resort is visually stunning — huge, well-maintained, with direct access to a beautiful beach. If that’s all you're looking for, this place delivers. But... Room & Housekeeping: Day 2: Placed the “Clean My Room” tag before heading to the pool — returned by 2 PM, room still untouched. Had to call and request cleaning. Even post-cleaning, there were no tissues in the bathroom tissue holder — again. Hairdryer does not work in the bathroom sockets, had to use the one in the closet area. Mini-bar fridge? Empty. No wine. No beer. A "5-star" room without basic mini-bar stocking — unacceptable. Dining & Service: Food is average at best. Ordered chicken tikka — oily and poorly prepared. Dhokla at breakfast was dry. Two lessons learned: stick to local cuisine and keep expectations low. Requested an order change within a minute of placing it — was flatly denied with “it’s gone to the kitchen.” Rigid, not guest-friendly. Dinner service was robotic. A server dropped lettuce on the table and walked away without cleaning it. No warmth or genuine hospitality — just scripted check-ins. Wanted to order wine and late-night food in-room for our anniversary night — not possible. Kitchen shuts down, bar closes at 11:30 PM, and all you can get are sandwiches. No IRD alcohol service post that. Activities & Facilities: Not much to do, we opted for bamboo rafting (which was decent). Pool was clean. Spa, run by a third-party provider, was the nice. GST Invoice Drama: Booked via MakeMyTrip Biz (This property is MyBiz Assured - meaning any booking is assured a GST invoice); When I requested a GST invoice at checkout, the front desk staff were clueless and the front office manager didn’t even engage until insisted upon. Final answer: “we can’t give it.” Post-stay, MMT followed up — the hotel simply did not respond to multiple requests on email even to them. Still have not received my GST invoice and I doubt I will. Truly disappointing customer handling. Final Thoughts: If you expect real 5-star service, skip this property. Hospitality here is all surface, no soul. You’ll be better off choosing Taj Bekal or The Gateway — don’t let a marginal saving ruin your stay experience.

The stay was amazing had lots of fun. Hospitality and the staff are really generous and they portray a positive vibe. The cleanliness of the rooms, the restaurant, the beach and the pool is well maintained. The ambience and greeney is absolutely mesmerizing. The activities provided by the hotel are perfect for the kids to enjoy. The early morning sunrise view from the balcony of the rooms and the sunset from the beach was absolutely stunning. We really loved this vacation and would definitely recommend Lalit to others as well. Thanks!

Location is excellent. Just 1.5 hours from Mangalore airport. It’s a beautiful sprawling beach side property, very well maintained. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. . From the warm welcome at check-in to the professional and friendly housekeeping staff, in the restaurant , we felt well taken care of. There are ample activities to spend indoors and outdoors. I loved the reading area as well! The food has been excellent with lot of variety including the local Kerala cuisine. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a beautiful location and top-notch service.

The Lalith is in midst of back water and blended with roaring sea instil romantic experience , the whole property is so well maintained and beautifully landscaped . The two days which we spent in Lalith is really unforgettable . All staff members were very polite.

Beautiful stay, friendly staff, and great food. The grounds were impeccable, and the activities were very fun. I would recommend the lalit to anyone looking for a relaxing but adventurous and scenic getaway. The staff is always ready to help
