Le Rhododendron is truly special – a peaceful oasis a 5 minute walk from the noise and bustle of Thamel. Hari continues to genuinely care for his guests. He made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to ensure we had an extremely comfortable stay. The hotel was spotless, the breakfast first class and his hospitality second to none. Hari somehow manages to combine making you feel like family, yet also like honoured guests – a wonderful combination. Each day started with a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast on the sunny rooftop terrace ( including the best coffee I had in Nepal). The shower is hot, with good pressure, the bedding, linen etc, spotless and the wi-fi and electricity reliable. Hari is ready to assist with any logistical challenge and often anticipated our needs. A stay at Le Rhododendron will be one of the highlights of your trip to Nepal and worth staying in Kathmandu for an extra few days.

Wonderful place to stay in Kathmandu, it’s close to Thamel and a lot of historical sites. Nice and clean room. Mr. Hari - the owner - was so helpful. He’s provided necessary information about Kathmandu tours, booked taxi, great talks, bring me to tourist agency to booking air ticket for Everest seeing… Feel like home. Highly recommended to everyone,

I was fortunate to stay here for 1 and a half years during the pandemic. I got to know the owner,Hari, and his family well during this time. We became like family. Hari genuinely cares for his guests and is happy to arrange whatever for their stay. The place is conveniently located next to Thamel and us safe, clean, and quiet. Great to shop at the local markets and get to know the people. It is a place to feel closer to how people live in Kathmandu without it being so touristic. Shop and visit with the locals, not as a tourist. Hari makes special effort that his place is kept up, recently repainting the whole building. A garden in the backyard to see what is growing. Balconies facing front and back with a great view of the surrounding hills. On a clear day on the rooftop you can see the Himalayas! Definitely recommend! Pic is from back balcony.

We were wonderfully welcomed. Lots of discussions about Nepal and always good advice. The rooms are spotless. The location is good. Good value for money. We will come back...and this time in Winter. Thank you Hari and Sita.

We had an excellent stay with Hari and Sita. They are so nice! The guest room is very well located, in a rather quiet little street, which is essential for spending a few days in Kathmandu.
