"The hotel is lovely from start to finish we enjoyed every part of our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is fairly close to the airport but that didn’t bother us. If you’re a plane spotter then this hotel is for you! The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Again the food at dinner was lovely but we would have liked more choice on the menu as when you are half board we didn’t find there were that many dishes available and becomes a bit repetitive. We would definitely stay at the Electra again. Thank you for a lovely stay."

"We stayed a week in this wonderful hotel. The staff were brilliant and made sure we had a fantastic stay, in the hotel and on the island. Katarina, Martine and Maria in particular were very helpful. All the facilities, not forgetting the spa, are first class and the food and drink are great. Loved the breakfasts and evening meals right by the sea. High class base for a visit to Kefalonia. We will be back."

"This is an exceptionally good hotel and we enjoyed it very much. It's the first time I've stayed in a hotel like this and the communal pool has been so quiet - absolutely zero stress about will we get a sun lounger. The hotel is so small and intimate you feel really well cared for and heard. Our room was beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast and food in the restaurant - very good. We had a massage and facial too - both excellent. Really beautiful views also. Found all the staff to be really kind and helpful. A truly wonderful and relaxing place to stay and we will return. Only downside is I think the price point is quite high but that wouldn't stop me coming again. We hired a car which I would say is a must. We loved Dafnoudi Beach in the north, Assos, hiring a boat for the day and going to the volcanic beach and white rock beach and the underground lake caves."

"Really friendly hotel nothing to much trouble. Rooms were very clean & serviced everyday. Nice quiet place to stay. Lots of restaurants on the main road above the hotel. Breakfast was very good & the choice of items fresh and plentiful. Sat out on the verandah most mornings eating our breakfast. The only criticism was the bed was not comfortable but this is a personal preference."

"Well, we were the first guests of the season and we were treated like royalty. This is a small hotel with a small but excellent team. Located a 5 minute walk from the main square in Argostoli and just a minute from the bay front. The room was resplendent in marble and kept spotlessly clean by the cleaning team. Breakfast was courtesy of Eleni (see photo) the super friendly resident cook who was always happy to prepare eggs to our liking and created her own cakes as part of the breakfast selection. The front desk team were super helpful and organised a hire car for me that was delivered to the hotel at a very reasonable cost and also presented us with fresh beach towels for our beach days. The staff were always available and helpful as you would expect from Greek people. All in all, a super hotel that I would have no hesitation in recommending."

GreKa Ionian Suites

"My wife and I have just returned from a extremely enjoyable relaxing week's stay at the fabulous GreKa Ionian Suites. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the lovely Afroditi, who then spent an appreciable time illustrating on a map local restaurants and bakeries etc. In order not to repeat the same comments from previous reviews, we wholeheartedly agree with the great positive reviews from previous contributors about the GreKa Ionian property, Afroditi and Agia Efimia. Standards have most certainly been maintained and our apartment (The Kefalonia) was beautifully, clean and also spacious. From the Easterly balcony we had great views of the village, the harbour and further out to sea and the second balcony had a view of the sea and some of the pool. After eating out for our evening meal, we then thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the harbour area activity with the all the lights from tavernas etc reflecting on the water. whilst eating some of the delicious desserts or pastries from one of the bakery/patisseries. Afroditi has obviously spent a significant amount of money, on maintaining and updating for the property. One example is the addition of a lot of lovely effective decorative pebble type stones to the pool boundary wall, (and other areas) incorporating all manner of coloured ocean related pictures. One full wall of the property to the side of the pool also completely redone with thousands of the pebble stones stuck into the mortar. The whole pool area is a lovely place to be and with the bonus of more lovely new sunbeds added again this year. Like others have said, many times we the only ones at the pool, but when that was not the case it was nice to chat to the other guests. Afroditi is such a warm, kind, caring, thoughtful, generous and welcoming person, with a good sense of humour and she made such a big difference to our stay at her lovely apartments. One last mention is to the lovely cleaning lady who always greeted us with a big smile. Very much hope to be back here again Andy & Chris "

Emelisse Nature Resort

"Hotel is positioned on a beautiful part of the island. The grounds are lush and pool is great. We loved everything here as far as the environment, views, amenities and our room, but the service was quite poor specially with the front desk. Our room was directly by the pool, and two nights in a row live music was playing at the pool restaurant until 11pm, which is great if you are there enjoying it, but not when you have a small child and trying to put them to bed. The next day when I told the front desk member that the music was very loud in our room and we were unable to sleep he just said yes we can play music until 11. When I pushed further and asked if we could be moved the answer was no. And that was that. I was stunned at this terrible customer service. I appreciate the hotel was fully booked but a simple gesture, an apology or sympathy would have gone a long way."

Ionian Emerald Resort

"Very good hotel we stayed in a superior room with pool and sea view which was ok but the bathroom needs updating. Plus points however are it was kept spotlessly clean by the maid Adriana who seemed to be always cleanjng. The breakfast room was very inviting with plenty of choices and the two ladies there were very pleasant and helpful. The pool didn't really have a shallow end so not suitable for non -swimmers as was stated by several people because difficult to access. Lovely setting with small private beach. Two tavernas close by but no local supermarket. There was however a bakery. Easy stroll into Sami about 20 minutes where there are many excellent restaurants. Please note that the sister hotel Athina has use of the pool. The Athina bar however at night is lovely with reasonable prices. Bar at the Emerald lacks atmosphere and is usually empty."

Astra Village Hotel Suites

"I was overall happy with the hotel, staff were friendly & helpful & it was nice & clean. A few points that would be helpful were help to room with luggage when arriving (quite a long walk down a slope) & some water in room on arrival (was very thirsty after traveling & walk to room). The location was good just a short walk to beach & local bus stop, plus a few restaurants, small shops. Room was more basic than I had expected but for the amount of time spent in room was fine & kept very clean. Around the poolside was lovely & the sunbeds excellent. Food was a little disappointing in regards to selection,the bar food which you payed for was so much better than the buffet which was included so that was an extra cost unexpected. I had a lovely stay & felt very relaxed though would recommend but just be aware of small points I made above."
