City Lodge Hotel at or Tambo International Airport

The hotel is located right above the P2 parking garage (5th floor), about a 10-minute walk from baggage claim entirely indoors without leaving the airport. It's decent for a one-night layover.

This hotel is directly connected to the airport and, despite having only three floors, boasts a very large number of rooms. Johannesburg Airport is convenient for travel within Africa, so I frequently use this hotel for layovers. Since the airport itself is safe, it's very convenient. I always travel with a suitcase, and the hotel is so expansive that walking through the carpeted corridors can be a bit of a trek. The only inconvenience is that some rooms have refrigerators while others don't. Otherwise, everything else is fine. I'm sure I'll continue to use this hotel in the future.

If it weren't for its airport location, it would only be worth 300 bucks. It's within walking distance after getting off the plane without even leaving the terminal. You do have to walk through a parking lot, but it feels generally safe overall. There are hotel signs inside the terminal—just follow them. Note that you need to head to level H first to complete the check-in process.

The location is excellent. As soon as you step out, you see signs guiding you to the City Lodge Hotel at or Tambo International Airport. We arrived at 8 PM, and since we were all women, we were initially a bit worried, but it turned out to be fine. The check-in experience was good; it only took five minutes. The facilities are decent. The hairdryer was a bit subpar, one of those cheap, small ones. I recommend bringing your own slippers and toothbrush.
