Kendal Premier Plus rooms 224 x generally very worn with little sign of ongoing maintenance, tv not working, towel door hooks pulled off wall etc. room 225, well where to start…carpets stained and dirty, I kept my shoes on. Comfy room chair missing, just a small foot stall in corner of the room, desk chair missing, had been replaced with a very old, stains black office chair, presumably from the hotel reception are. Generally a very very tired room. I soon realised why there were signs of long term black mold around the shower tray, the bathroom extractor fan was 90% locked by fluff and dusk, I removed a lot from the extractor so at least the damp air was being removed, (Pic attached after my cleaning) not something I would expect to need to do. That bed, very surprisingly for Premier Inn, was not the best. Generally maintenance seem to be a very big ongoing issue with this hotel. We were not by any means the only people with problems. Though I must say that the 2 staff members, who were covering the restaurant, reception and the whole hotel were excellent and very hard working, it’s a shame they were so let down by their corporation employer. I have in the last year stayed at close to a dozen Premier Inns across the Uk. This hotel rooms were most definitely NOT up to the basic standards of the Premier Inns corporate standards, and as confirmed by the hotel staff not fit to rent…. Notes to this has been added by the hotel staff onto their company computer system. Line most British people, I really don’t like to complain, but this needed to be said….. I’m keenly awaiting a response from Premier Inn he’d office, but I won’t hold my breath.
