We loved our time at the Afro Beach Bungalows; amazing location, really close to the beach, super friendly, helpful staff who arranged everything for us. The food in the restaurant is some of the best we had on the island, and a good price too. The food always came on time and was hot and delicious. Our room was really spacious, had a fan and a good mosquito net, we didn't need anything more. I would definitely stay here again.

We spend one week at Afro beach and really loved it there! The staff is super friendly, they make you feel very comfortabel, rooms are clean, sometimes there's a bonfire at the beach when having diner or just under the stars by candle light. Afro beach is still very authentic, so don't brother having a bit of a cold shower sometimes (which is kinda refreshing after a hot day). We hope they don't change to much in the future and keep it as 'real' as possible as it is right now. They also offer great tours. Asante Sana!

There are countless points of criticism (we only list the most important points here, we took photos as evidence but unfortunately could not post them here): Everything is run down, dirty and absolutely unhygienic. Breakfast was very primitive and inadequate (no bread, bad instant coffee has to be poured yourself), the room was only cleaned very superficially every other day, bed linen was dirty, only cold water, shower was moldy and fittings were broken, toilet had no door. The staff was (with one exception) completely unmotivated. The owner/manager not only refused to reveal his name but also refused to have any personal conversation regarding an amicable agreement on an early free check-out. Instead, we had an absolutely outrageous email exchange with him via the *********** portal. This catastrophic, completely overpriced accommodation with fraudulent management (here the accommodation is only known as "Afro Beach Bungalows", we had booked the accommodation as "Home of Whaleshark") should be delisted from all portals as soon as possible.
