Belle Vue Guest House

My family and I stayed at the Belle Vue Guest House in 2 rooms. We had a perfect stay, from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed. The guest house has been beautifully and sensitively renovated, however the rooms have a modern style, super clean and have everything you need. There are some fabulous touches like an honesty bar and a great terrace to sit out on at the end of the day. I can highly recommend the breakfast, there's everything you want and if it's not on the menu Martyn will sort it... I can't recommend the Belle Vue highly enough.

From the minute you walk through the door the splendour of this house grabs you, beautifully restored and decorated to a very high standard throughout. I stayed in the Sandringham, a very spacious and tastefully decorated room, with quality bedding and top quality en-suite. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better after a fabulous nights sleep, the breakfast was top quality. I opted for fresh fruit salad & Greek yoghurt to start & was presented with a well presented selection of freshly prepared very fresh. Next I requested poached eggs, bacon & mushrooms - as a former chef, I can tell you the poached eggs were perfect & the bacon was very good quality bacon - all washed down with a cafetière of fresh coffee & orange juice. 11/10 all round!

This was the first time that we had stayed at Belle Vue but certainly will be our only choice when we next visit. Denver is a very pretty place with very easy access to Downham Market.The guest house is a top end establishment & better than almost any place we have stayed. The place is immaculately maintained with beautiful bedrooms & every attention to detail.Martyn was very attentive but not intrusive & we felt totally at home.We stayed in the Nottingham room which was a beautiful sunny room.The bed was very comfortable with luxury linens. There was plenty of lighting good internet & many power sockets. The breakfast was outstanding with plenty of choice including gluten free options. The grounds were beautifully maintained & very attractive. The towels were excellent quality fluffy & very absorbent & the shower was simple to operate with instant hot water. The list of recommended restaurants was very helpful & we had 2 excellent meals in nearby Downham Market. It’s very difficult to find anything negative to say as great thought has been given to almost everything. We will definitely stay here every time we visit the area now. Perhaps a gluten free biscuit would be nice to have in the room if a guest has drawn attention to being in this category. But I cannot think of anything negative at all. A first class experience & others will not be disappointed.

Really fabulous guest house. Lovely location with easy parking and a very warm welcome from the owners. Huge room with comfortable bed. A gorgeous house with beautiful, tasteful and pristine decor and furnishings. Everything is top quality with extra touches to make the stay as comfortable as possible . Great shower with large soft towels and good quality bathroom products. The breakfast is outstanding using excellent produce in a relaxed breakfast room. Good value for money. I will return and recommend without hesitation as a five star experience. Thank you

We stayed for a long weekend at the end of Feb '25 and had a fantastic time. The Belle Vue is classily decorated and the Nottingham Room was clean and the facilities were excellent. A great deal of attention has been paid to the decor throughout. The choice of breakfast and quality were very high and Martyn couldn't have been more hospitable, friendly and informative. We have stayed in many guest houses over the years and would honestly place this one at or near the top. We would recommend the Belle Vue to anyone and would give it many more stars if it was possible. If we head to West Norfolk again, there's only one place we'll be staying. Thanks again to Martyn and his family and staff.

My wife and I had a thoroughly lovely stay for two nights. The property is very pleasant and we stayed in the Sandringham room, that is on the upper floor and looks out onto the front of the property. The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. The en suite had a good shower and likewise was nice and clean. Special mention is the breakfast that was great. Downham Market is about a 25 minute walk away and has several restaurants and a couple of bars. The A10 is just up the road and so easy access back to Ely or the surrounding sites quickly. Denver itself was very quiet and nice. The Bell Inn pub is just opposite and is rather old school pub but with an adjacent garden for a drink outside. We are already booked to return and very much look forward to it. A great base to visit the local area.
