Hotel Kyocera is probably one of the largest hotel in Kirishima. It has two buildings ( main and annex) and looks quite good architecturally. They are connected by a bridge on the 3 floor which has the walking escalator- and a display of the various places that have been listed as world heritage sites in Japan. Inside the main building, there is a glass church which is ideal for weddings. In the basement, there is a large onsen, and spa. It is certainly a good place for having a holiday. The overall condition of the rooms are good- and the rooms are of good size. My room faces the East and has a perfect view of sunrise! I decided to go to Kai Kirishima and Kagoshima, expecting a view from the room overlooking Sakurajima. Without knowing the positional relationship between Kirishima Onsen and Kai Kirishima. It was 3 days and 2 nights, but fortunately we were blessed with good weather on all 3 days, and the scenery was even better than we expected. I could see the sunset, the starry sky, the haze, the sunrise, and even the movement of the volcanic plume. At first, I thought it would be a hassle to go to the hot spring with a slow car, but on the way down, the view of Sakurajima spread out below me, and I could see deer and wild boars in the nature, and the movement turned into a pleasure. The sight of the windowless indoor bath going into the dazzling open-air bath is a moving experience that makes you wonder if the gods who emerged from the rock must have felt like this. The open-air bath in the afternoon when the sun is out is recommended. I did not encounter a slope car accident like the posted article. It was comfortable with good ventilation. In addition, there is a performance of Tenson Kourin, and the road to the inn is a virgin forest with roots on the rocks. When I found the inn on the way back from the plane, I was a little surprised at how close the crater of the Kirishima mountain range was, but it was an inn with a spectacular view like no other.

The room was renovated and the room was beautiful. A historic inn where Ryoma Sakamoto and famous literary masters stayed. It seems that there were many cancellations due to the typhoon, and there were few people and it was very comfortable. The large garden communal bath was fluttering with rain and wind. If you want to say it's too bad, I'd be happy if you had a free drink of freshly made coffee.

I found this place when I lived in Kirishima Onsen Village and tried to move to another place. Check-in at 4 o'clock.. I arrived early.. I got off at the nearest train station and picked up the service later, 4 check-in was a bit late. Because it is a residential area, you can't see anything near Yokan. On the contrary, it is really quiet, so it’s nice to rest. There are too many kaiseki dinners, I did not apply, I only applied for breakfast. The breakfast time was really good, I looked at the scenery outside~~The hot spring was too slippery.. The stone was too slippery. I enjoyed the hot spring very carefully. The location is not very good. . Most Japanese people come here.. Most of the staff can only speak Japanese.. The prefectural road from the airport was a mountain road with quite a few ups and downs. There was a lot of traffic, and honestly I thought it was far away. However, it was an accommodation that made me feel glad that I had come this far. The room was a two-room Japanese style room with a bed. There was also a garden and an open-air bath on the first floor. I could see the mountains of Kirishima and it was a soothing view. It was quiet and I didn't have to face other customers. As it is called a Japanese restaurant and inn, all the food was very delicious. As mentioned in other reviews, the miso-yaki large shrimp was so delicious that I wanted to eat more. All items are carefully crafted using local ingredients. Perhaps because the soup stock was good, the soy milk hotpot was rich and rich. It was quite a portion, but our family of four ate it all. Although it is quite far from Kanto, I would like to visit again to try this delicious food.

We decided to add on one night in Kagoshima prior to embarking on our second Yakushima trip. We did this specifically to try out Myoken Ishiharaso - while the ryokan is a relative unknown in foreign circles, the its prominence among Japanese folks as one of the top onsen and culinary ryokans prompted to extend our trip to try it out. We're definitely glad we did! First, the location - even though it's a mere 15 minutes drive from Kagoshima Airport, we felt like we were a world away; the ryokan is on the outskirts of Kirishima National Park, and is situated along the banks of the pretty and quaint Amori River. It's definitely a place you can easily visit from Tokyo or Osaka given its proximity to the airport, and feel like you're in an off-the-beaten-path destination. On the other hand, it's quite a ways away from Kagoshima City proper... if you want to see the sights (Sakurajima, Sengan-en, etc.) then you definitely should plan for a long day or spend two nights in the area. Note that check-in at Ishiharaso is 2PM, and you'll want to get there not much later than that, if you intend to enjoy everything that the ryokan has to offer. We stayed in a Suite in the” Ishikura” annex building called ”Kirara.” It's generously proportioned (85 square meters) and features a separate bedroom/living room/tatami room, and an open-air outdoor Onsen (natural hot springs) bath on the room's balcony. The added benefit of staying in an Ishikura room (and a handful of the top suites in the main building) is the fact that you can elect to have meals in your own room. We chose Kirara due to preferring a more comfortable (to us), Western-style accommodation - Kirara's bedroom has two double beds, and the living room is furnished with real sofas. Please note that in-room meals are served in the Tatami room. We really enjoyed the variety of Onsens that are available at Ishiharaso. The in-room open-air Onsen was awesome. It's different from many others in that it's full of Iron, and you can really smell it. Not a super pleasant aroma, but it's natural, and it's not overpowering in its aroma. What was impressive is the fact that it's not only is it of the ”kakenagashi” (24/7 constant free-flowing) variety, but the volume and force is unlike any other Onsen we've experienced. We could tell that they are close to the source, and there is an abundance of the hot springs water that Ishiharaso taps into. We also tried out several of the Onsens on the property, and they were all interesting in their own unique way. There is a pretty pathway along the river that leads guests to the main ”Daiyokujo” (segregated communal bath) that is large and indoors in a separate building that also contains a lounge/cafe. In addition, there are several outdoor Onsens scattered througout the river banks, including a footbath, a mixed-gender bath, and two private rental baths for couples/families/friends.
