Stayed here with my family a few times in the past years. Very beautiful views towards the Caucasus mountains. The restaurant offers from good to excellent food and the prices are on bar with other hotels but still expensive in comparison to restaurants in Telavi. Especially their pesto-kchachapuri is excellent as are the chicken soup and mushroom cream soup. The schmeruli (chicken in garlic and milk sauce) was also excellent The sulguni kebab was good. The breakfast is good but the coffee is pretty poor. The quality is a couple of level below when comparing with more higher end hotels. During the breakfast, the employees in the restaurant seemed too busy and they had hard time keeping up with serving. The wines are good but there are much better ones in Kakheti, even close by. Regardless their saperavi is very good and their sparkling wines are pleasant. The mattresses and pillows in the rooms are quite poor so I had back pain after sleeping there for a few nights. As we have children, the swimming pool is very important for us but unfortunately the indoor swimming pool had dirty water, so hazy, you could hardly see further than 30cm ahead of you. There is hair, skin and other debris floating in it. Us adults, did not want to swim in it after the first day of our stay. Unfortunately the sauna is located in another building so you cannot combine sauna and pool. You could of course walk from the sauna to the pool and back (about 100 meters or so) but the pathways were icy so one would not want to risk that. Next to the sauna is a cold pool but there was no water in it so we could not use it during three days. They offer massages but incomparison to Tbilisi they cost five times as much so this time around we did not treat ourselves. There is a playroom but we could not play anything except ping pong because the billiard table and the sticks were broken, as was the fussball game. Sign of hard times I guess that they have not been able to repair these. The receptionist was friendly and professional, so was the cleaning lady of the indoor swimming pool area and the men who lit up our fireplace in the room. The waiters and waitresses during dinner were also excellent. Some other staff members were less friendly. This is a clear difference to places like Radisson, Lopota Lake or Kvareli Resort were all the staff members are very friendly.
