Check-in at the front desk was incredibly efficient, and the staff were both professional and friendly, even proactively upgrading our room. **Room Experience: Where Details Shine** The room boasted an elegant and spacious design, perfectly blending modern amenities with a tasteful New Chinese aesthetic. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic views of Xuanwu Lake, making waking up to such picturesque scenery every day a real treat. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep even for a light sleeper like me. The bathroom featured a heated floor system, warm and inviting underfoot, and the L'Occitane toiletries, with their delightful fragrance, made every shower a truly relaxing experience. **Dining Experience: Culinary Delights** The hotel's breakfast was simply outstanding! It featured authentic local specialties like Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup and Jinling Soup Dumplings, alongside freshly made omelets and an array of exquisite desserts. A special mention must go to the Jiangnan Wok Chinese Restaurant; it truly lives up to its 'Black Pearl' rating, with every dish being incredibly memorable and leaving me craving for more. **Location: Unbeatable** Nestled right by Xuanwu Lake, the hotel offers easy access to leisurely strolls along its scenic shores. Its proximity to the metro station makes getting around incredibly convenient, perfect for exploring all the city's attractions. Evening walks by the lake, watching the city lights begin to sparkle, were simply magical. **Service Experience: Beyond Expectations** What truly impressed me was the hotel's impeccable service. Returning to my room on the second day, I found that the housekeeping staff had not only tidied up, but had also thoughtfully organized my carelessly left charging cables with ties. This attention to detail truly demonstrated the hotel's commitment to guest comfort. This stay has truly made me a loyal fan of the Shangri-La brand. Whether for business or leisure, it's an excellent choice. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Nanjing and will undoubtedly choose Shangri-La again!"

"As a long-established five-star hotel, the service is absolutely outstanding – warm, attentive, and professional. The location couldn't be more convenient! The subway station is right downstairs, and Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area is directly across the street. Gulou (Drum Tower) is also very close by, making it incredibly easy to get around to all the major attractions. The hotel's buffet breakfast consistently delivers excellent quality, truly living up to its five-star standard. The views from our floor were unparalleled, offering breathtaking panoramas of Xuanwu Lake and the Nanjing cityscape. The only minor quibble is that the main entrance is at the back of the building, which took a little searching for us first-timers, especially since the front desk is located on the 23rd floor. This made our initial check-in a bit confusing! Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic!"

"My stay here was absolutely wonderful! Waking up to see the morning mist drift over the lake, and in the evening, watching the sunset paint the riverbanks red – every photo you take here is postcard-perfect. Xuanwu Lake Park is just a 10-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for cycling around the lake or taking a boat ride. It's also only 3 subway stops directly to the Presidential Palace, and you can reach Fuzi Temple in just half an hour. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bedding is soft and pleasant against the skin, and the service is exceptionally thoughtful – any request is met with an immediate response. Staying here means you can fall asleep to beautiful lake views and easily visit Nanjing's landmarks. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Nanjing!"

"I’ll start with the things that annoyed me about this hotel. The list is long… 1. How the hell are the rooms so expensive when the curtains are not automatically? You can’t move the curtains from the bedside. You have to get up and go move it all the way. 2. The Ac is so noisy and the only way you can turn it off is leave your bed and go right there 3. Only two switches next to the bed for the lights. All other switches by the door. In fact, it’s not a smart room though what I paid for showed they have everything. Paid almost 700 a night. 4. There’s no menu in the room and I called for menu and they said they’ll send someone but had to call back 30-45mins later and they sent someone with some kinda snack that I didn’t even ask for. Finally menu came an hour later after a series of calls. The only thing I liked was the bathroom and the views if am being honest. I paid for the highest floor but got put in the 38floor telling me the higher floors were out meanwhile I paid for it. One more thing, there’s bathtub but no bath soap nor salt. Like how you expect me to take a bath ???? Nahhh!!! They’ve got to put their game up!"

"Environment: Very close to Deji, just across the street, with convenient transportation nearby. Facilities: The room was soundproof and spacious, with a large refrigerator and cooking area, though the air conditioner was a bit loud. Service: The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Upon getting off the bus, they helped with their luggage and even brought it upstairs. I called to request two extra bottles of water, which were delivered quickly. From the moment I walked in, it felt like the Swissotel in Singapore. After checking, I realized it's part of the same group. I was very satisfied and will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit Nanjing."

"The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. There's direct underground access from Xinmofan Malu Metro Station on Line 1, and it's just a short walk from there to the hotel. Upon check-in, the front desk informed me my room wasn't quite ready, but they kindly upgraded my room type, allowing for a smooth check-in. While the room itself was satisfactory, there was a noticeable sewage smell coming from the bathroom sink. I contacted the front desk, and they immediately dispatched an engineer who promptly resolved the issue. Kudos to their incredibly swift and effective response! Even when I woke up late on the second day, the front desk proactively called to inquire when I'd like housekeeping service. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay, and I'll definitely choose Ascott for my future stays in Nanjing!"

"The hotel is very close to the airport, about a five-minute drive. The airport shuttle was surprisingly uncrowded, almost like a private transfer, which was perfect for us as we had a lot of luggage. However, the driver who picked us up was quite unhelpful and didn't assist with our bags. Fortunately, the driver for our departure was very friendly, which made up for the initial disappointment. We also received welcome fruit and breakfast. Since we were traveling with a child, they even provided an extra breakfast for our little one, which was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast itself was just average, but the multigrain porridge was good. Overall, it was a good stay. However, if you are a light sleeper who is easily disturbed by noise, this might not be the place for you. Due to its close proximity to the airport, there's noise from planes taking off, which can continue until around 1 AM. On the positive side, taxis are very convenient. Even though we arrived quite late, we were able to catch a taxi to the Bali Night Market for dinner, which was less than a 15-minute drive away. This convenience was greatly appreciated. The taxi fare was around 20 RMB."

"I brought my sister here for a trip before university started. We heard they offer quite a spread, boasting five meals a day. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, while lunch and afternoon tea were just average. The service was genuinely thoughtful and incredibly responsive – they truly catered to our every need! A huge shout-out to our driver! He was incredibly eloquent, sharing fascinating insights into Nanjing's history throughout our rides. My sister remarked that he clearly not only loves his job but also has a deep passion for Nanjing! Staying at The Ritz-Carlton made it incredibly convenient to visit places like Deji Plaza, Jiming Temple, and the Nanjing Museum. Oh, and a side note: the hotel toothbrushes were surprisingly the most comfortable we've ever used!"
