"The hotel is not far from the pier, about a five-minute walk. The room furnishings are relatively basic, and the shower and toilet are connected to the outdoors which means mosquitoes can come in at any time. There are only two large bath towels and they are not changed when the room is cleaned . Breakfast has less variety of food and there are always flies flying around. In fact, on a relatively remote island where the environment needs to be protected, the above shortcomings are understandable. However, the hotel's price of about 7,500 baht per night only provides simple accommodation and food, which is indeed low value for money."

"I did not stay here but had their all-you-can-eat breakfasts many times. Wonderful variety of breads, cereals, eggs done in at least 3 different ways, hash browns, fried rice, seasonal fruits and the most amazing cappuccino and Latte. A great way to start the day which will keep you going all day until supper. And of course, it goes without saying, the friendliest, most accommodating staff one can find anywhere. Highly recommend Mayalay for its ambience, it's welcoming and friendly service and their amazing breakfasts."

"The rooms are clean and the location is excellent. It's not beachfront, but it's a short walk away. The front desk staff are very helpful, but the service in the restaurant could be less attentive or slow at times, and some items were out of stock or slow to be replenished."

"Big busy resort style hotel with lovely sea views that becomes crowded with morning/afternoon day trippers. Manic at breakfast times too, though good buffet. Insufficient sunbeds when all day trippers descend on the place. Pool tucked away and unattractive. Rooms good and well cleaned. I would choose somewhere smaller, more peaceful and less crowded in the day.."
