On my first visit to Kobe, I stayed at the Hotel Okura near the port. This time, I chose the Daiwa Premier in Sannomiya, and its location is fantastic – convenient for transport, shopping, and dining.
The breakfast wasn't overly extensive, but it offered both Japanese and Western options, and the taste was good. One thing that really puzzled me was the absence of boiled eggs, which is something I've never encountered in any other Japanese hotel I've stayed at.
The washing machines are modern drum types, very efficient, and even have a sanitizing function. You can pay with your phone. Even though there are only three machines, they're usually available as there aren't too many guests using them.
The separate wet and dry bathroom is excellent. Being able to soak in the bathtub every day to relieve fatigue from the day before is a huge plus for me when booking a hotel.
Overall, it's a great hotel and highly recommended. I'll most likely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
