Arima Hot Spring Ryokan Kotori

This hotel offers great value for money, especially compared to other options. We even got to use the hot springs on the 7th floor of the hotel next door, which costs over 3000 a night! It was a fantastic experience.

Environment: Arima Onsen has a nice environment. Since it's primarily a carbonated spring, there's no rotten egg smell like sulfur. The town is easy to explore and well-developed commercially. Cleanliness: Although we booked a traditional Japanese onsen ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), we requested a twin room. The room was quite large, very clean and tidy, and we didn't have to worry about not being able to unpack our luggage or having limited space to walk around. Service: The service was truly exceptional. They provided shuttle service throughout our stay and even delivered our luggage. When we needed to take the cable car to the top of Rokko Mountain, they also provided transportation. They were very helpful in answering our questions about attractions. Facilities: Kotori is a very small onsen ryokan with only 8 rooms. So, although the rooms aren't small overall, there's no bathroom or toilet in the rooms. We knew beforehand that there wouldn't be a toilet in the rooms, but after checking in, we definitely felt the inconvenience. Breakfast was eaten in the ryokan lounge, and dinner was at a sister ryokan, a 3-minute walk away, where the facilities were much more luxurious.

I was a bit taken aback that the small, cozy room didn't have a bathroom, but the provided Kaiseki was wonderful and delicious enough to make up for all the inconvenience.

Second time staying here. Although the location is far, there is a special car to pick you up after arriving in Arima area. The price is reasonable. One night and two meals are provided. The portions are sufficient and very delicious. The place is clean and quiet. It is a good choice.

Stayed in a private bath room, but the room was very small, the bath was like a bathtub, and it looked different from what I thought when I booked the room. I thought it had hot spring bath, but it turned out to be a public bath. The food was delicious, and the environment was quiet, but it was not possible to check in ten minutes earlier. It was inconvenient to have to go to a second place for dinner.

To use the large hot springs and baths, you have to walk a few minutes to the sister store, which is a bit inconvenient and cold. The food is good, although there is not much beef, but everything else is good. Better than cost-effectiveness

Extremely disappointed with the service quality and attitude of Xiaoduli Hotel. The room rate is at least 50,000 yen per night, but there is not even the most basic private bathroom and toilet. Is the housing price reasonable? Do you feel guilty about it? The platform did not clearly state such situations when booking, which clearly shows its intention to mislead consumers. In addition, I had already paid in full on the platform, but was asked to pay again after arriving. It would be a huge inconvenience to empty the 200,000 yen in my wallet all at once. The platform also does not clearly state the information, and the information is extremely asymmetric. What is the purpose of collecting a 100% deposit? When I raised the issue, the staff were indifferent and unhelpful. He said there are public bathrooms available for reservation, but my mother is already 60 years old and still has to go down the stairs to take a shower and then go up the stairs back to the room. Do the staff consider me in her shoes? The staff shirked their responsibilities and had no sincerity in addressing our requests and complaints. What’s more, how can the staff be a receptionist if they can’t even understand simple English? The overall experience was totally inconsistent with the hotel's charges, which seriously affected my trip to Arima Onsen. I will not stay here again, nor recommend anyone to choose this accommodation. I am extremely angry about the hotel hiding some of their information from Trip.com. Please be careful!
