This review refers to the Villa Waldfrieden apartment run by the hotel Alpenhof. Here follows a sorry story concerning a stay in September 2023, when I felt we were ripped off by a greedy owner. I was visiting my daughter in Kochel, and she made a reservation for us (my wife and myself) in the apartment. Unfortunately my daughter just stated that “my father is visiting” (my wife is her step-mother), without mentioning that we were 2 people. But since this is an apartment, not a hotel room, that should not matter (or should it?). This led to a sequence of unpleasant experiences, which have left a real sour taste, and frankly worth issuing a warning about this establishment. Upon our arrival I was shocked to be told that I had to pay an additional €175 for my wife (7 nights at €25 per night), because the apartment had been reserved for just 1 person. Not having any alternative, I paid, but still regret it. For this €175 we received nothing. Over the course of the week, our towels were not changed once and no one entered our room to do any cleaning or other management. Meanwhile when we arrived the room had been made up for 3 people, with 3 beds made, and 3 sets of towels, so the claim that 2 people justified this extra charge was without value. We reported the microwave as faulty the first day, and it was still faulty when we left. I investigated and found no evidence anywhere of pricing information, let alone extra charges for 2 people (as opposed to 1), whilst the website advertises the rooms as being for 2 – 4 people (not 1), and shows no pricing information. There was no price information in the room, or on the website, or anywhere I could see. I suspect that this is against the law. The owner sent confirmation for the room with 1 person to my daughter (but not to me, although I was the contractual person with my credit card details supplied for payment), and then wanted her money. So, I can see no justification in increased costs for the additional €25 per night for 2 people. I could see no legal justification which supported the additional €25 per night. In short I could see no way that this additional charge was in any way justified. The apartment itself was shabby and worn, with my wife describing the bathroom like being in a dental surgery (white walls and clinical, with no attempt to soften the decoration). We were bothered by separate accommodation in the garden (a group of workers who played loud TV at all hours), but above all I was bothered by the attitude of the owner. I gave her several opportunities to justify the charge, explain the lack of pricing information, etc, or to reimburse, but she absolutely refused (hence the delayed review). I can imagine after she sees this review posted she may respond that we received a discount compared to list prices, but a discount to a hidden and outrageous price is still not reasonable. Due to the situation I was hoping for some form of apology since the prices were not displayed anywh
