Hotel is more suited for business travellers as nearby corporates offices suggests. As a solo leisure traveller the hotel was not for me, in terms of sightseeing etc with everything futher away. Breakfast and dinner selection was somewhat limited but nice food. Prakash the waiter served with care and efficiency. At the Spa on one of the nights there was no one there at the reception to take queries as the one and only therapist was engaged with an appointment! So what does one do wait for hours to be atteneded to? As a sign suggested i left a message for a call back for an appointment, but got none.

The hotel left a very mixed impression. On the one hand, it is absolutely charming - the design of the hotel, the rooms, the courtyard - all this touches and immerses you in an atmosphere of rest and relaxation. On the other hand, there are a lot of disadvantages that can outweigh the advantages. For example, the rooms are very cold even when the air conditioner is off. And in general, air conditioners are constantly working everywhere, so I did not get out of a warm sweater with a hood. Didn't like the food. I understand that this is India, but usually large hotels also have a European menu. Here, too, there were options, but either peppered and spicy anyway, or a la fast food (pizza and burgers). In general, if you are a gastritis, an ulcer, or for some other reason are limited in nutrition, then you will have a very difficult time. The staff is very arrogant (not all of course, but the general mass), there is always a feeling that you owe them something. Well, the last little remark, speaking about the attitude and sensitivity of the staff: we arrived on my husband's birthday and did not even hear the banal ”happy birthday” at the check-in. First time like this. Usually they will at least verbally congratulate, as a maximum they will treat you with cakes)

Located in a prime place. Has valet parking. It seems they arrange for vehicles to roam around cochin. Easy checkin. Lifts for easy access. 24 hrs room service impressed me. I got thirsty around 3am. Called the room service. Bam! There was a guy with water bottles within 5 mins. I used their laundry service. Not much costly yet good. We used their in house spa service. Little costly. Food was okay. Room was neat and elegant. The only flaw I noticed was that no one came to get our luggage during checkin and checkout!! I wonder why!

Transitioning from the room to the hotel’s culinary offerings, the experience at Pearlspot, the in-house seafood restaurant, was less than stellar. The prawn dishes, expected to be a highlight, fell short in flavor and portion size, not aligning with the ambiance or expectations set by the locale. The staff, warm and accommodating, strive to bridge the gap between guest needs and facilities delivery. Despite their earnest efforts, there seems to be a gap in the finesse and professional polish one might expect from qualified hotel ***agement, which could enhance the overall guest experience significantly. While this Ramada property might beckon as an idyllic retreat for those seeking to disconnect and relax (‘veg out’), it’s important to ***age expectations. The hotel, with its tranquil setting, aligns more closely with the quaint charm of a well-maintained two-star property rather than the grandeur of its self-proclaimed five-star status. Concluding the experience, the pricing—9,000 rupees for a one-night Thursday stay in February—reflects a fair compromise between the serene location and the modest amenities on offer. Ideal for a fleeting escape, Ramada serves as a reminder that tranquility can be found, if one is willing to temper luxury expectations for the charm of simplicity and solitude.

If you're coming for a holiday don't expect much at the hotel, except for the view. No cultural shenanigans, no activities (except a sunset boat cruise which is a non-guided tour just meant for sight seeing the DP world cargo port and sunset) Game zone / Play zone is just for kids, the indoor pool stinks, outdoor is okay (but it's usually very hot and sunny) Though they might not have an exciting spa, but their masseuse are probably the best, I would recommend getting a massage there.
