Koh Chang Ko Chang Subdistrict Hotels

The Awa Hotel is well designed and beautifully set out. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a couple of problems ... no hot water when we arrived and the power blew in the room on the first night. We were impressed with the speed that the staff dealt with these problems to our complete satisfaction, when told of them. Great facilities but I do have one gripe with the breakfast. Overall, the breakfast facilities were excellent, the choice wide ranging and the staff very helpful. However, the vegetarian options were poor. Firstly, I pre-messaged them to alert them to the fact that I would need a vegetarian breakfast but that had obviously not registered with them. Over the next three days of our stay, the main part of the breakfast was a mix of eggs, fried vegetables and rice, which is boring and uninspiring. I would not have thought beyond the wit of a good cook to have at least one vegetarian based option available to all. Besides this significant disappointment, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, freshly renovated rooms (building K). Each room has a hot pot kettle. But mattresses are quite hard. Fresh water, shampoo, toilet paper and trash bags daily. Good breakfast buffet. Always different kinds of one of each: soup, fried rice, noodles, vegetable and chicken dish. Three types of fruit and salad bar. However, there is only one person preparing eggs and pancakes, which results in a long queue. And only instant coffee. Location is nice, but the hotel doesn’t practically have its own beach (as well as pool, sun beds and beach towels). During the low tide, it’s impossible to swim due to bushes of seaweed. The beach is nice for morning swims and evening walks. Also elephants are brought there for a swim multiple times a day.

The hotel is wonderful, the staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive around the clock. The jungle is fun, and there are chickens that children enjoy watching. You can see hornbills in the trees. You can see monkeys and macaques and enjoy the beautiful beach and pools. There is a cable car that takes you there. A shuttle service is available to and from the hotel. A free shuttle to the center is available at certain times. We enjoyed our stay there, and the breakfast is delicious, varied, and comprehensive.

We loved everything, and the main criteria when looking for a hotel was walking distance to a good beach and a room as close to the sea as possible. So, we were very pleased! The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location on what we consider to be the best beach on Koh Chang. For this, we can forgive its other shortcomings. The main drawback is the distance from cafes, shops, etc. You have to walk about 15 minutes along the beach. Also, the monkeys that wandered the hotel grounds every day in search of food were a bit of a nuisance. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast; it wasn't anything special, but we didn't leave hungry. The rooms close to the beach are all renovated and fresh. Overall, we recommend it! We'll definitely be back 😊

The hotel's location is decent, with a 7/11, cafes, restaurants, and everything a tourist could need within easy reach. Unfortunately, we weren't thrilled or even satisfied with our stay. We stayed in budget rooms. Our room had very poor lighting; the small, frosted windows let in minimal natural light, and the artificial lighting within the room was also extremely dim. Overall, the room didn't feel cozy at all; it was like living in a cave. Perhaps this was due to the low season, but it felt like the hotel was in a semi-abandoned state; the pool's jacuzzi and fountains weren't working at all, and the grounds were poorly maintained. For about 3-4 days, what we presumed to be monkey droppings lay in the chill-out area near the budget rooms, and no one bothered to clean them up 🙃. The hotel staff themselves were nice and very friendly; we had no issues with them. The problem, we believe, lies with the higher management, who seem to have neglected the entire hotel. It's also important to note that the hotel is virtually integrated into the jungle, resulting in a lot of wildlife, including monkeys, on the grounds.

Rooms are clean and big. Check in as check out is smooth. The bar and restaurant looks new. The rooms seems to be renoveted. But the suroundings need attention. Some parts of the wooden floor on the restaurant where shaking as we walked over it. The bathroom is updated but shower was was weak pressure and the Shower head need to be cleaned. The restaurant food was, amazing good en fair priced. Staff is helpful and friendly. Most customers where young guests and the bar near our room was a bit loud. After all it was a plus. But loved more our stay at Bang Bao, it was more peacefully and natural . We're an older couple 🙏🇹🇭

As good as expected, the hotel is in an area. I was a little afraid of getting lost at first, but later it was okay as long as I got familiar with it. Remember the way to the beach and the way to the main street. The hotel area is well greened and comfortable, and there are fewer people living on this beach than on the White Beach, so it is very quiet and suitable for lying down, whether in the room or on the beach. The hotel also has a swimming pool, but I sat on the beach this time and didn't experience it. This room type is an independent cottage. It takes one or two minutes to walk along the path to the beach. Even in the room, you can see a little bit of the sea. The beach is a restaurant open to the public and also a place to eat breakfast. There are few people on the beach, very comfortable. If you are lucky, you can meet a baby elephant that provides tourists with a bathing experience. There is no fire show in the restaurant on this beach. If you want to see a fire show, go to the White Beach. It is also within walking distance from the main street. There are 711, restaurants, souvenir shops, massage shops, and everything else on the main street. There is an elephant park not far away, which provides various elephant experience projects. If you are lucky, you can even see elephants walking on the road. Thanks to the Chinese families who occasionally show up with their kids to experience the program, we passers-by have the chance to see it by the way. Overall, I like it very much. If I go there next time, I will probably consider it again.

Удобное расположение в центре побережья на границе между дикими пляжами и благоустроенными. Сам отель - одноэтажное здание с секциями тайстайл. Интерьер спартанский но все чисто, без насекомых и запахов. Заселялся дистанционно - позвонил, сказали номер комнаты. Выезжал так де. Депозитов не берут. Большая проблема с парковкой.

It was such a pleasant stay located in Kaibae which is my favorite area when I stay in Koh chang. The price is too good to be real comparing to what you get, free breakfast, clean nice budget room, very polite staff, great location, 4 pools in the property?? It's just insane to me!!

Everything is good, but there are a lot of mosquitoes. The breakfast is very good, ordering system, can be eaten until the afternoon, no time limit.
