Koh Kood Paradise Beach

I have mixed feelings after my stay. On the one hand, I have no complaints about the hotel itself. It has a large, well-maintained territory, with various bungalow options and standard rooms. The beach is a mere 3-4 minute walk away. Breakfast was varied one day, and a bit sparse the next – it really depended on the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The ladies at the front desk resolved all our issues, even if we had some language barriers. The rooms are standard, nothing extraordinary. In the evenings, there's live music, and you can sit at a cafe right on the beach. However, we didn't enjoy the food or cocktails there, so we ended up dining at a neighboring restaurant. The beach itself is equipped with various photo ops, and there's a large pier nearby where you can watch the sunsets. But somehow, we just didn't feel comfortable on this beach; something was missing. We wanted to escape somewhere else, even though there's a separate area with sun loungers and you can also just lie down anywhere with your towel. We discovered a cozy spot by walking further left along the beach, past all the developed areas.

I really liked the hotel grounds. The bungalows are on stilts, there's a lot of greenery, and they clean and change towels every day. Every evening there's live music with Thai singers, which is really great. The downsides are the view on the beach (of a barge) and the food leaves a lot to be desired.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! We stayed in a deluxe villa, second row from the sea. The sea was magnificent, especially before 3 PM, after which the tide started to go out. The breakfasts were average, but always fresh, and there was always plenty of everything. For dinner, we ate at the à la carte restaurant, and everything was delicious (we had read some negative reviews about the food)! Especially the grilled scallops, and the large mixed grilled seafood platter, which included fish baked in salt. The staff were a bit slow, but always tried their best to please you. As for the downsides, the WiFi simply didn't work, and there wasn't a single fruit shop within walking distance.

The hotel is located on the amazing Ao Tapao beach, with a gorgeous sea. We stayed in a room in the two-story building, just a couple of minutes from the beach. There are also bungalows, which are closer. The room was a bit worn but clean and spacious. We rented a motorbike from the hotel; it was also a bit tired, and there wasn't much choice. Given the elevation changes on the island's roads, we would have preferred something more reliable. The restaurant was decent, with live music in the evenings. Hello to Toby the parrot!
