The Fair House Beach Resort & Hotel

We stayed there at the end of July. At first, the hotel grounds seemed a bit inconvenient, but we were sleepy at the time. The hotel is built on a hilly area, and the landscaping is wonderfully integrated. Between the staircases connecting the buildings, you can see boulders and trees, giving you the feeling of living in a jungle 😍 – even though it's actually right on the beachfront 😁. The steep incline doesn't really feel like an inconvenience. If you're at reception, you hop into a golf cart and they take you where you need to go. If you're on the beach and need to go up, you can call from the bar, and a golf cart will come. Same from your room. They drive around constantly anyway, but you can always call for one. We stayed in both a Grand Deluxe and a Premier room. Our Grand Deluxe was above a two-story room, so we were effectively on the 3rd floor, not far from the pool and restaurant. The room was decorated in light grey tones. It was bright, large, very large – you could easily fit a second bed in there 😁. **Pros:** a desk, plenty of chairs (useful for hanging clothes to dry indoors), a large mirror in the bathroom, and a spacious wardrobe that opens fully. **Cons:** The bed felt more like a standard double than a king-size. There were no closed shelves by the bed for small items. The air conditioner was aimed directly at the bed, and even on its lowest setting, it was still cold. There were tiny ants (even though there was no food, they still seemed happy to live there 😁). The showerhead wasn't detachable and was small, and the bathtub was inconvenient to use. There was no shower door. Upon check-in, there were no face towels, but a quick call to reception sorted everything out. In general, if you need anything – water, towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. – just call. Now, about the Premier room – it's in a different, more verdant building nearby. The natural surroundings here are different but just as lovely – palm trees and flowers. We stayed on the 3rd floor. **Pros:** The room had a Balinese style, with carved brown furniture, interesting bedside lamps, and emerald tiles in the bathroom, creating a very relaxing atmosphere 😻. The bed was a proper king-size (just what we needed here!). It had both a rain shower and a regular shower, a detachable large showerhead, a shower door, and shelves by the bed for small items. There was a window from the bathroom to the room, which was a cool design feature and made the room look visually a bit larger. The balcony had a drying rack, which the Grand Deluxe didn't have (though we always bring a rope for such cases). No ants here! 😀 **Cons:** No desk and only one chair. The balcony had a small table, but it was low. The room felt smaller compared to the Grand Deluxe, but it was fine for two people. Less lighting, and due to the dark furniture, it was dimmer than the Grand. This didn't bother us. The wardrobe was small, with sliding doors. **Regarding the beach:** Objectively, our hotel has the best beach on Chaweng Noi because it's wide. Other hotels have narrow beach areas due to their property lines. The entry into the water is gentle, and the water is clean. When there are no clouds, it's a beautiful blue. For a couple of days, we felt some kind of biting plankton, but there were no other pests. **Breakfast:** Fresh vegetables, various egg dishes, bacon, sausages, ham, rice, chicken with vegetables, pasta, rice porridge, potatoes, beans. French toast, pancakes, waffles. Croissants, muffins, occasionally profiteroles, bread. Jams, honey, butter, Nutella. Yogurt, watermelon daily, and bananas, melon, and pineapple rotated. Cereal, milk, juices, water. Coffee from a machine. No red fish or shrimp. But overall, the food was decent. Dishes rotated, and there was always enough to eat 👍. We bought one Piña Colada – didn't like it. The taste was all wrong. Much better in Cuba! 😀😀 The hotel offers bike and car rentals. The prices weren't too high, especially since they had the exact model we were looking for. The gentleman even let us test-drive it around the property before booking. There's a shuttle bus to Central shopping mall. For 4 people, it's 80 baht per person. If only 2 people, it's 300 baht for both. This is roughly the same as a taxi. You can check Grab for exact prices. Paid late check-out is available; inquire in advance. We needed it. ❤️ **Overall impression:** Despite the minor downsides, our experience was good. It was interesting to stay in both room types.

Excellent value for money. The location is perfect, within walking distance of shops, massage parlors, and cafes. The grounds are beautiful, lush with greenery. The main highlight is the beach, which is superb. On the downside, the breakfast is quite modest, and the air conditioning is noisy and blows directly onto the bed. Also, in the room, there's no...

The biggest drawback of this hotel is how dark the room is. There's just one ceiling light with a yellow glow, and a wall lamp by the bed with a shade that blocks most of the light. Not much natural light comes in from outside either, due to all the greenery. The furniture is also dark. You're practically stumbling around the room. In the evenings, it's impossible to read or work. We only stayed for two nights and went out to restaurants in the evenings anyway. The air conditioning is noisy and humid, making it hard to sleep, but without it, the room heats up instantly. This is the main issue; if the lighting were improved, the hotel's style is otherwise acceptable for the price. Given the price, the breakfast isn't amazing, but you can get by with an omelet and sausages. They offer fruits like pineapple, watermelon, and a fruit salad. The coffee is tasty. The sun loungers are very old and difficult to manage on your own, but there are staff on the beach who will bring you a lounger and umbrella wherever you like. Beach massages are available. And the sea, it's very good and clear. The staff are excellent. The grounds are lush and green. The walk from the room to the beach isn't far at all; we comfortably walked it every day.

I chose this hotel because of the beach, and it didn't disappoint – the beach and sea are incredibly clean. The views are simply stunning. The hotel itself has quite a large area, and they offer golf cart shuttles to take you to your room. This is super convenient, especially when it's really hot and you don't have the energy to walk uphill from the hotel exit. My husband and I were absolutely delighted with the hotel's green grounds; there are so many plants, flowers, bushes, and trees, and you can hear birds singing. At night, everything is beautifully lit up. After spending one night in a main building room, we realized we'd prefer a bungalow. We paid the extra fee and moved into a bungalow, and it was the best decision! The location is perfect, close to the sea but on the second line, so it's not noisy, and it has a lovely terrace. Inside, the bungalow is simple but perfectly clean, with everything you need and nothing superfluous. The breakfasts were a slight disappointment; they didn't offer much variety. However, when you're sitting at a table just a few meters from the sea, enjoying the view and a gentle breeze... that issue quickly fades into the background. :))) The staff are all very polite and friendly, always positive and helpful. This also left us with the most pleasant impressions. We'd love to come back here again.

Very friendly staff. Family-friendly setting with a private beach that is probably one of the best and cleanest on the island. The room was very clean, but a bit 'old-fashioned' and lacked light.

We stayed in a cottage, and while they are indeed a bit outdated, they have everything you need and are perfectly functional, so that's fine. Beach towels were provided in your room once a day, which we found very inconvenient because sometimes they weren't there. There were plenty of sunbeds. The staff were friendly and kind, except for those at the front desk who didn't seem very enthusiastic.
