Samui Mekkala Resort Reviews

This is not a user friendly hotel, if you cannot deal with stairs. My biggest complaint is why on earth would you use clear glass for a bathroom window, that is on the walkway directly outside the bathroom, see pics. The oblong window is approx 178cm from the walkway and anyone could look directly into the bathroom area. The second issue were the curtains need some work doing on them, so as to make them open and close easily. Third issue was the lock on the sliding door to the pool area, is very ordinary and could easily be opened by slipping something thin between the two doors and flipping the latch open. Ok the bad things out of the way, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast choices were certainly sufficient and tasty. The king size bed was comfortable, shower had plenty of pressure and very little noise during the stay. If you choose to stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend that you need either your own transport, or hire a scooter, as it is far from a lot of places. There is a very nice beach, with places to eat, that is about 10mins walk way.

Wonderful, luxurious, huge room! 50 sq m is amazing! Sunrise view. A little noisy since my room faced the road, but I slept with earplugs and it was perfectly fine. The pool is clean, and there's even essential oil for the bath 💜

We spent 6 nights in the Mekkala and had a great stay. It was very quiet, but very close to restaurants and the beach. Our room was on the ground floor and was very spacious and comfortable. Outside was a patio with pool access right there. Also there was a table and chairs out there along with an area to lounge on a very comfortable couch. Breakfast was available and cooked to order. Everywhere was clean and the staff were really nice. There was a place to hire a car or bike right next door and next door but 1 took in washing, had taxis and could arrange trips which we did. All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel and if we ever return to Samui would definately go back to the Mekkala.

Excellent guesthouse, two swimming pools, and everything you need nearby if you rent a scooter. It's a bit far to walk though. Everything is fresh and clean.

Good location, just 8 minutes away form the beach. You can see sea from the hotel room. Spacious room, a bit old but stuff keeps it in clean condition. Good music in the restaurant. Swimming pools are clean. Stuff very supportive and friendly, they helped to arrange transfer and during our stay helped us with different kind of requests.

Nice location in 5-7 bike drive from seaside and many restaurants around in walking distance  Room itself is very fit our expectations with spacious rooms and pool entry  Highly recommended

After arriving later than expected we got a friendly welcome. The corner room we had on the first floor was amazing, very spacious with a lovely balcony you could sit out on. The hot pastry I had for breakfast was scrummy and could be taken to my room. The hotel is on a fairly busy road with a building site further up, you could hear work but this didn't bother us. Bare in mind that the hotel is NOT staffed during the night! Would recommend this hotel.

The staff was super ok considering that I made the reservation late at night, they contacted me and were concerned about me. Thank you for this!! The room was super ok and very bright with a view of the ocean and a large balcony. I recommend this place with confidence and I would definitely come back anytime

Amazing hotel! Highly recommend staying here. The room was very large, the beds were extremely comfy, and the location was great!

Great value for money. Nearby is the best cozy beach - Choeng Mon.
